The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a premium hatchback that offers a spacious interior, fuel efficient engine and Maruti's fame reliability. The Baleno features a curvaceous yet aggressive design that gives the hatchback a sporty appearance. As a premium hatchback, the Baleno offers more space than the Swift and also includes more premium features. The current second generation Baleno features a revised dashboard with a floating touchscreen infotainment system and premium-looking centre console. The 1.2-litre petrol engine has been tuned to enhance fuel efficiency, with the Baleno delivering up to 22.94 kmpl. In terms of transmission options, the Baleno is equipped with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission.Safety features on the Baleno includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts and rear parking sensors as standard. Additionally, the AMT variants come with electronic stability program and hill hold assist as standard features. Six airbags and a rear parking camera are other safety features available on higher variants of the Baleno.The Maruti Baleno was orginally launched in 1998 as a sedan and continued till 2007. The first generation of the Baleno as a premium hatchback was introduced in 2015, and featured a CVT automatic variant as well as a sport turbo petrol variant.
