Alto K10 is a simple car to drive and its small size is very useful in crowded cities. The steering is light and taking U-turns or parking in small spaces does not require much effort. Its 1.0-litre petrol engine is also quite responsive for regular city driving. The manual gearbox is light to operate whereas the AGS is more convenient in heavy traffic. However, the gear shifts of AGS are not always smooth. The CNG model has less power than the petrol model and the difference can be felt with more passengers inside. Alto K10 can be used for highway trips as well but overtaking needs some planning.

Alto K10 is still one of the more basic cars available in India. You do not get features such as alloy wheels, rear AC vents or many of the comfort features now found in bigger hatchbacks. What you do get is a small car with good mileage, an easy-to-drive petrol engine and the option of AGS and CNG. Rear-seat space is fine for two adults but can get uncomfortable with three. For regular city driving and smaller families, the Alto K10 covers most of the basic requirements.
