"My Celerio VXi gives excellent fuel economy (around 24–25 kmpl real-world) which saves me a lot on petrol. The front seats are comfortable and visibility is good. However, the interior is very basic – all hard plastics, and there’s no rear camera or even a daylight running lamp in lower trims. The AMT is convenient but can be slow to kick down. Overall I’m happy, but I wish the fit-and-finish and features were a bit better for the price."
"After 6 months with the Celerio, I’m really impressed. It’s smooth in the city and has plenty of room for two kids and groceries. The new safety features (ESP, 6 airbags) give me peace of mind. On longer trips, it cruises comfortably despite being a small engine. It won’t win drag races, but I don’t buy it for that. In its segment, the Celerio feels reliable and complete. Maruti’s service is also good, so maintenance costs are low. It’s the best practical hatchback I’ve owned."
"I use the Celerio mainly for my daily city commute. The lightweight 1.0L engine makes short trips effortless, and I easily get over 25 kmpl on the highway. It’s very easy to park in tight spaces, and the driving position is nice and high. The only downsides I’ve noticed are that the cabin plastics feel cheap, and the AMT jerks a bit in stop-and-go traffic. Otherwise, it’s a great budget car with good space for my family."
Safety is a strong point on the new Celerio. Every variant has 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESP), and hill-hold assist (AGS models). Other aids include front seatbelt pre-tensioners, seatbelt reminders for all passengers, impact-sensing door unlock, and rear parking sensors. This makes the Celerio one of the safest cars in its segment feature-wise.
The Celerio is very fuel-efficient. Officially it returns around 25.2 kmpl (petrol manual) and 26.7 kmpl (petrol AMT). The factory-fitted CNG variant offers about 35.5 km per kg. Real-world mileage varies, but many owners see ~20–22 kmpl in mixed driving.
The Celerio measures 3695 mm in length, 1655 mm in width, and 1555 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2435 mm, which gives it more interior room than the old model.
Yes. Its lightweight kerb weight and compact dimensions make it easy to maneuver and park in urban traffic. The 1.0L engine provides peppy low-end power, ideal for stop-start driving. Excellent all-around visibility and light steering make daily city commutes effortless.
The Celerio has a 313-litre boot in the petrol models. This is one of the largest in its class, making it practical for luggage and shopping loads.
It has a ground clearance of about 170 mm, which is adequate for typical city roads and speed breakers.
The Celerio comes with a 998 cc 3-cylinder K10C petrol engine (about 66 bhp/89 Nm) paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT. There’s also a factory-fitted 998 cc CNG option (about 56 bhp/82 Nm) that comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
