Overview

Those who have driven the Honda CR-V know that this car was well ahead of its time. With solid build-quality, spacious interiors, and tech-loaded interiors, this beast could easily give even the modern SUVs a run for their money. It was first launched in 2003 in India when it was available only as CBU imports from Japan. The car received some major updates in 2006 and 2013. Initially, it was only available with a petrol engine. Since 2018, both diesel and petrol engine options have been provided to the buyers. CR-V was finally discontinued in 2020 as Honda decided to focus on new models and the demand for the older Honda cars was already declining. The old models (released between 2004 to 2010) are mostly priced under Rs. 5 lakhs. Though these models are available at a lesser price, it is recommended that you opt for the newer variants i.e those released from 2016 to 2020. These models would be priced roughly from Rs. 7 lakhs to Rs. 15 lakhs depending upon their year of production, condition, total running, and service history. Yet, these models offer better value-for-money as they offer the latest tech and safety features. Also, get them from verified car platforms to avoid any unpleasant experience after the purchase.

Honda CR-V is highly appreciated for its tough build-quality and reliable driving dynamics. Its engine is tuned to provide a smooth-ride quality. The interior may seem a bit outdated, especially in the older models but the seating arrangement is comfortable. The CVT transmission on the automatic variants may seem a bit slow whereas the manual variants are a lot more responsive and smooth. In the segment of compact SUVs, the CR-V is considered as a practical car for the urban buyers. It also holds its value and offers a large bootspace too. The CVT transmission feels a bit noisy when you press the acceleration pedal hard. The infotainment system is also not up to the mark.

"The Honda CRV is one of the most modern SUVs manufactured by Honda. It comes equipped with a range of advanced features such as key-less entry and multi-information display. The pedal shift gives it the look and feel of a race car. Honda has put all its engineering might in creating this beast of a car! When it comes to suspension setup, this car is without any doubt the best in its class. While driving on uneven roads, I never got any clumsy feelings. Both the exterior and interior facilities of this car are more than good enough for me.
