The Volkswagen Taigun is a premium mid-size SUV that blends German engineering with urban practicality. Based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, it offers two turbo-petrol engine options—a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI EVO—with manual and automatic transmissions. Known for its solid build quality, the Taigun also packs a host of modern features such as a 10-inch touchscreen, digital cockpit, ventilated front seats, and up to 6 airbags. With its sporty design, lively performance, and safety tech, the Taigun competes strongly in the mid-SUV segment against rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

It comes only with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (72 PS, 96 Nm). You can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed Easy-R AMT automatic. Renault currently does not offer a turbocharged or factory-fitted CNG version for the Triber. (A dealer-fitted CNG kit is available in some regions.)
Yes. Its sub-4m length and light steering make the Triber easy to maneuver in tight urban traffic. The 182 mm ground clearance helps on speed breakers. Its compact footprint allows easy city driving, and the soft suspension provides a comfortable ride over potholes.
Standard safety kit includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminders, and ISOFIX child-seat anchors (on higher trims). Top variants add two more airbags (total 4) and a rear-view camera. The car has a 4-star GNCAP rating for adult protection (3 stars for children). Note that it lacks advanced tech like ESC.
Yes – it is available with a 5-speed Easy-R AMT (automated manual) transmission on the mid and top trims. There is no traditional torque-converter automatic; the AMT is the only “automatic” option.
Spinny’s platform lists certified pre-owned Triber models across India. You can browse Spinny’s used car inventory to see available Triber listings in your city – all cars are inspected, refurbished, and sold with a warranty for added peace of mind.
With all seven seats in place, the boot offers only around 84 litres – enough for a few small bags. However, the third-row seats fold flat into the floor. In 5-seater mode, boot capacity expands to about 625 litres, which is very generous.
The 1.0L petrol Triber is rated around 18.2 kmpl (ARAI). Owners report real-world fuel economy of roughly 17–19 kmpl in combined driving. This makes it very economical for a 7-seater MPV.
