Tata Motors has revealed the facelifted Tata Tiago and Tiago EV ahead of their launch on 28 May. The new Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago EV look quite different and more stylish than their current models; however, on the inside, the updates are expected to be minor. Read on to learn about the new Tata Tiago and the new Tata Tiago EV.
New Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago EV: Design

Tata has done a fine job designing the new Tiago and Tiago EV, as both look significantly more stylish than their current models.
The new Tiago get an all-new face, with a concealed-off gloss black grille, sleek rectangular LED headlamps with eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRL), and a large blacked-out air dam. Moreover, there are functional vertically oriented air ducts on either side of the bumper, and LED fog lamps with blacked-out housing. On the side, the new Tiago retains most design elements, except for the new design for the alloy wheels and black cladding on the wheel arches. At the rear, the new Tiago gets all-new tail lamps connected by a red glass bar, a revised tailgate, a new bumper, and large vertical reflectors.

On the other hand, the new Tiago EV gets a new body-coloured face, including the entire bumper with air intake, and even the grille. Meanwhile, it misses the fog lamps, which the Tiago has. The side profile consists of black cladding over the wheel arches like the ICE Tiago, and it also gets aero inserts on the alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. The rear profile is quite similar to the Tiago, with connected tail lamps, and the only difference is the badge and the lack of an exhaust pipe.
New Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago EV: Interior and Features
While Tata has not revealed the interiors of the new Tiago and Tiago EV, their teaser reveals a new free-standing digital instrument cluster and thicker seats with integrated headrests. Moreover, the teaser also reveals camera pods on the front bumper and under ORVMs, confirming a first-ever 360-degree camera setup for both the Tiago and Tiago EV.
In terms of features, the Tiago and Tiago EV are expected to carry on the current features for the most part. So, the features will include automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control, automatic climate control, a cooled glove box, and a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS). All the same, instead of two airbags in the base model, the facelifted Tiago and Tiago EV are expected to offer 6 airbags as standard. There is the possibility of the addition of a larger infotainment system and ventilated seats.
New Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago EV: Powertrains
The new Tata Tiago is expected to continue with the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine, which produces 86 PS power and 113 Nm peak torque mated to either a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. Like the current model, the Tiago will also be available with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
As of now, the Tiago EV is offered with two battery packs: 19.1 kWh and 24 kWh, delivering a range of up to 223 km and 293 km, respectively. However, the new Tiago EV is expected to come with larger battery packs, as Tata did the same with the Tata Punch EV.
New Tata Tiago and Tata Tiago EV: Price and Rivals
Currently, the Tata Tiago is priced at Rs. 4.60 – 7.68 lakh, and the Tiago EV is priced at Rs. 7.99 – 11.14 lakh. With the facelift, both Tiago and Tiago EV are expected to become pricier. Moreover, the Tiago EV may come with Battery as a Service (BaaS), as Tata has already started BaaS with the Tata Punch EV. The new Tiago will continue to rival the Maruti Wagon R, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and Maruti Swift. The new Tiago EV will continue to compete with the MG Comet EV and the Citroen eC3.
