MG is preparing to launch a new three-row SUV in India, which is expected to be called the MG Hector Tomahawk. It will sit above the Hector in MG’s line-up and will first be launched as a fully electric SUV. The model is scheduled to make its India debut on August 26, 2026, and bookings are already open for a token amount of Rs 21,000.
The Hector Tomahawk will use MG’s ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. This platform can support different types of electrified powertrains. The SUV will be introduced in its EV form first, while a plug-in hybrid version is planned for a later date.
The SUV is sold as the Wuling Eksion in Indonesia and is expected to bring a similar overall package to India, with some changes for the Indian market. It will have a seven-seat layout with a bench-style second row, making it a practical option for buyers looking for a spacious electric SUV.
MG Hector Tomahawk Exterior Design
The MG Hector Tomahawk gets a bold and modern design. At the front, it features rectangular LED headlamps with twin-element LED daytime running lights. It also gets two-tone alloy wheels, black cladding below the doors, large front fenders and pull-type door handles.
The SUV has prominent roof rails and wraparound LED tail-lamps at the rear. Its flat roofline flows towards a roof spoiler, while chrome detailing runs along the windowline. The charging port is positioned on the rear-left side. Compared with the Indonesia-spec model, the India-spec version gets different artwork on the C-pillars and a knurled finish on the front grille.
The Indian version is expected to be similar in size to the Wuling Eksion sold in Indonesia. The Indonesia-spec model measures 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,755mm in height, with a 2,810mm wheelbase. The SUV is also expected to be offered with two-tone exterior colour options in India.
MG Hector Tomahawk Interior and Features
The Hector Tomahawk will have a seven-seat layout with a bench-style second row. The teaser shows a beige-themed cabin along with a panoramic sunroof, which should help make the interior feel more open and airy.
The cabin follows a clean and simple design. It is expected to have some physical controls around the two-spoke steering wheel, centre console and doors. The dashboard is also expected to feature two digital displays.
Based on the equipment offered with the Indonesia-spec Wuling Eksion EV, the Hector Tomahawk could get a powered tailgate, leatherette upholstery and powered, ventilated front seats. Other expected features include a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, 50-watt wireless charger, automatic climate control and AC vents for the second and third rows.
The SUV could also come with a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, six airbags and an ADAS safety package. However, these features are based on the equipment available in the Eksion EV, and the final India-spec list is yet to be confirmed.

MG Hector Tomahawk Powertrain Details
The Hector Tomahawk will initially be launched in India as a fully electric SUV. While the ADAPT platform can support strong-hybrid, range-extender and plug-in hybrid powertrains, the PHEV version of the Hector Tomahawk will arrive at a later stage.
The India-specific powertrain details of the Hector Tomahawk EV have not yet been revealed. The Indonesia-spec model, however, uses a single electric motor mounted at the front. It produces 201hp and 310Nm and has a claimed top speed of 160kph. It is powered by a 69.2kWh LFP battery pack and has a claimed CLTC range of up to 530km.
The upcoming PHEV version is also expected to use the same powertrain as the Eksion. Its electric motor produces up to 195hp and 230Nm, while the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 105hp and 130Nm. It gets a 20.5kWh battery pack and has a claimed electric-only range of 125km.
MG Hector Tomahawk Price and Rivals
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to be priced between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). This would place it in the premium electric SUV segment and give buyers another option if they are looking for a seven-seat EV.
The upcoming SUV is expected to compete with the Kia Carens Clavis EV and Mahindra XEV 9S. Its three-row layout, electric powertrain and expected premium features could make it an interesting option for families looking for more space from their electric SUV.
