The Vietnamese electric car maker, VinFast, has launched its third product, VinFast VF MPV 7, in India. The VF MPV 7 is available in a single variant priced at Rs. 24.49 lakh. It is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack and has a claimed range of 517 km. Here is a closer look at the VinFast VF MPV 7.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Design and Dimensions
The VinFast VF MPV 7 is 4,740 mm long, 1,872 mm wide, 1,734 mm tall, and has a 2,840 mm long wheelbase and 126-litre boot space.
The VinFast VF MPV 7 has a typical MPV design. It gets a boxy silhouette and some design elements like those of the VinFast VF6 and VinFast VF7. Up front, there are vertically stacked LED headlights, and eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs on either side of the VinFast logo, ‘V.’ The side profile highlights the 19-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and slim black cladding running across the electric MPV’s bottom. At the rear, the electric MPV features a full-width LED light bar designed like the LED DRLs, and a blacked-out bumper that adds visual contrast.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Interior and Features
On the inside, the VF MPV 7 is available with two interior themes – either a dual-tone black and brown or an all-black colour scheme. Moreover, it has a 7-seater configuration (2+3+2), and all seats get adjustable headrests, 3-point seatbelts, and leatherette upholstery. The carmaker claims that the VF MPV 7 has the best third-row space in its segment.
The clean, layered dashboard has a free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment that doubles up as a digital instrument cluster. There is a 3-spoke steering wheel with some physical buttons and a flat centre console with large cup holders. Moreover, it offers all four power windows with one-touch up/down and anti-pinch functions.
In terms of features, the VF MPV 7 packs a powered driver’s seat, automatic climate control with dedicated vents for all three rows, a PM2.5 air filter, a 4-speaker sound system, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable and auto-folding ORVMs, cruise control, and more.
Its safety equipment consists of four airbags, hill-start assist, ABS with EBD and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, all four wheel disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, and more.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Battery and Range
The VF MPV 7 is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle-mounted (FWD) electric motor, and offers a claimed range of 517 km. The setup produces 204 PS power and 280 Nm peak torque, enabling the electric MPV to sprint from 0 to 100 k/h in less than 9 seconds. The battery pack is compatible with 80kW DC fast charging and can be topped up from 10 percent to 70 percent in a claimed 30 minutes.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Price and Rivals
The VinFast VF MPV 7 is priced at Rs. 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in a single variant, the VF MPV 7 will compete against the Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMAX 7, and Mahindra XEV 9S.
In a bid to attract buyers, VinFast is offering a Rs 2 lakh incentive for customers exchanging a combustion engine-powered car with the VF MPV 7. The carmaker has also claimed to offer 75 percent buyback value on the e-MPV, which will be calculated on the basis of the vehicle’s ex-showroom price. Moreover, the carmaker has also announced a 3-year free maintenance, 7-year vehicle warranty, and a 10-year battery warranty with the VF MPV 7.
