MG Motor has launched the second facelift of the first-generation MG Hector at the starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Hector and Hector Plus (6/7-seater) bring some new design elements and feature updates, and new colour options, while the powertrain options are the same as of the outgoing model. For now, MG has announced prices only for the petrol variants, and prices for the diesel variants are set to be announced next year. Here is everything you need to know about the new MG Hector.
New MG Hector: Design

Overall, the new Hector is not too different from the previous model as far as exterior design is concerned. Much like the previous model, the new Hector features a massive chromed grille, however, the new Hector has a new honeycomb-like pattern for the grille instead of the diamond-shaped pattern on the older model. The air dam design has also been revised and the alloy wheels are new too. Meanwhile, the headlamp and tail lamps are the same as before.
In terms of colour options, new Celadon Blue and Pearl White themes have been added to the palette, joining Aurora Silver, Starry Black and Glaze Red, making the total colour options five.
New MG Hector: Interior and Features

The new MG Hector (5-seater) has a dual-tone Ice Grey interior theme, while the 6/7-seater MG Hector Plus comes with a dual-tone tan cabin. In addition to updating the interior colour themes, MG has updated the portrait-style 14-inch touchscreen with its iSwipe touch gesture control technology that allows the front passengers to adjust climate using two fingers and audio with three. The rest of the feature list is the same as before, which includes 7-inch digital instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, 6-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, ambient lights, PM 2.5 air filter, push button start/stop system, a 360-degree camera, and more.
New MG Hector: Engine and Transmission
For the new MG Hector and MG Hector Plus, the powertrain options are the same as before. The petrol variants come with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that generates 143 PS and 250 Nm peak torque and comes mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Whereas, the diesel options include a 2-litre turbo diesel engine, which generates 170 PS and 350 Nm, and is offered with only a 6-speed manual gearbox.
