Nissan X-Trail is a stylish SUV that comes with the 7-seater configuration. In India, the Nissan X-Trail is available as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) import unit. Therefore, it doesn’t offer the hybrid technology in India that is available in the international models. Its 1.5-litre Turbo Petrol engine is compatible with the E10 fuel i.e. the blended petrol that contains 10% of ethanol and 90% of petrol.
Therefore, using the E20 fuel in the engine that is calibrated for the E10 fuel can damage the fuel pump, cause corrosion of the fuel lines, and deteriorate the fuel-efficiency in the long run. Also, since it is certified for E10 fuel, using the E20 fuel could lead to warranty claim rejections by Nissan.

- Fuel-Effiency
E20 fuel is slightly less fuel-efficient than E10 or E5 petrol. This is because of the higher percentage of ethanol in it. As ethanol produces less energy density (around 30 to 35% less) than petrol, the power delivery of your car suffers. This exerts an additional load on the engine as you have to press the accelerator harder to get the required speed.

If a vehicle is not E20 compliant, some of its parts may not function at its fullest potential.
