The MG Comet EV uses an electric motor to power its rear wheels and comes with a 17.3 kWh battery; the FC variants get a slightly larger 17.4 kWh pack. It can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes using a 7.4 kW AC charger. A 3.3 kW AC charger does the same job in 7 hours.

The MG Comet EV is offered in three variants: Executive, Excite and Exclusive. The latter two are also available with AC Fast Charging capabilities (7.4 kW AC charger), and these variants are called Excite FC and Exclusive FC. The lowest price for the base variant of the MG Comet EV can be had in many cities like Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Indore. Alternatively, it is Faridabad that commands the most amount of money for the Comet EV’s base variant. As far as the top variant is concerned, it’s priced the lowest in Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Indore, and Faridabad has the highest on-road price for the top variant.
MG offers the Comet EV with a Battery-as-a-Service (BAAS) option or Battery as a Service Scheme. In such a situation, the ex-showroom starting price of the ZS EV is reduced to Rs. 4.99 lakh and can go up to Rs. 7.50 lakh. However, the price for the battery is charged on a per kilometre basis, with MG charging Rs. 2.9 per kilometre. The exact cost will only be determined by the financing partner in such a deal.
