Mahindra BE 6 Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

A 5-star rating for adult and child occupant protection is a huge achievement for any car. The Mahindra BE 6 received a near-perfect score for adult occupancy, missing the perfect score by marginal points. The protection assessment also concluded that the vehicle offers excellent safety features, offering ample protection to young passengers.

Mahindra BE 6 Bharat Adult Occupant Protection Rating

Rating: 5-star

Score: 31.97 out of 32

The latest Bharat NCAP test for Mahindra BE 6 revealed astonishing results, making it the second car after the Mahindra XEV 9e to get such a high BNCAP score for adult occupant protection. The Mahindra BE 6 received an almost perfect score of 31.97 out of 32 points, making it one of the safest cars in India. It received a 15.97 out of 16 for the frontal crash test and a perfect 16 out of 16 score for the side crash test.

During the side impact crash, the Mahindra BE 6 NCAP rating indicated that the vehicle provided ‘Good’ protection to the driver’s and passenger’s head, chest, pelvis, and abdomen region. In the frontal collision, both the passenger and driver received ‘Good’ protection. However, the ‘Adequate’ protection of the driver’s right knee might have marginally impacted the overall Mahindra BE 6 safety rating.

Mahindra BE 6 Bharat Child Occupant Protection Rating

Rating: 5-star rating

Score:  45 out of 49

The Mahindra BE 6 also received a 5-star rating from the BNCAP for child occupant safety. To assess the children’s safety, dummies of an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old were fastened to the rearward-facing seats with support legs and ISOFIX anchorages.

The Mahindra BE 6 outperformed other cars in the Indian market regarding child safety. It received perfect scores of 12 on 12 for the Child Restraint System (CRS) and 24 on 24 in the dynamic test. However, in the vehicle assessment test, BE 6 scored 9 out of 13 points. A 45/49 score is excellent, making Mahindra BE 6 an ideal family car.

Mahindra BE 6 Safety Features

The latest cars in the market come with multiple safety features. Here is a list of all the safety features that the Mahindra BE 6 offers:

Airbags

The Mahindra BE 6 has six standard front, side, and curtain airbags, and an additional seventh airbag is offered in higher variants.

Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)

Level 2 ADAS ensures the safety of car occupants in times of collisions. It features adaptive cruise control and forward-collision warning, assisting drivers in better control and avoiding accidents.

Electronic Parking Brake

The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) is an advanced replacement over the traditional mechanical handbrakes. Now, with a push of a button, you can activate it. Electrically tightening the rear wheels’ brakes will prevent the car from moving when parked.

Rear Parking Camera with sensors

The sensor-assisted rear parking camera makes reverse parking easier. It provides a visual of the car’s rear side, helping the driver manoeuvre and park it safely.

Front Parking Sensors

Mounted in the front of the car, these parking sensors will alert you about objects that are present too close to the vehicle. This safety feature greatly benefits manoeuvring at low speeds and in tight spaces.

Auto Park Assistance

Sometimes, a car’s exterior gets damaged while parking in small spaces or under unfavourable conditions. Mahindra BE 6’s automatic parking assistance will help make parking convenient and reduce parking-related problems and accidents.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

The car’s safety mechanism includes TPMS, which continuously detects tyre pressure and alerts if it deviates from a set limit. Driving with overinflated or underinflated tyres can be hazardous.

All-wheel Disc Brakes

The Mahindra BE 6 is equipped with all-wheel disc brakes to improve the braking performance of the wheels. These brakes perform significantly better than traditional drum brakes, allowing drivers to make sudden stops without losing the car’s control.

Driver Drowsiness Detection

Inattentiveness on the part of drivers often leads to road accidents and claims thousands of lives every year. Hence, to improve overall safety, the car features an alert system when the sensors detect signs of fatigue or drowsiness by the driver.

360-degree Camera with Blind Spot Detect

Higher variants of this car have a 360-degree camera. The camera shows the car’s surroundings, improving visibility and identifying any blind spots.

Virtual Engine Sound

The Mahindra BE 6 is an electric vehicle (EV), so it runs silently compared to other traditional cars. It emits an artificial engine sound to alert pedestrians about the approaching vehicle.

Rain Sensing Wipers

The rain-sensing wipers are automatically activated when the glass is fogged with rainwater, which affects visibility while driving.

Rear Defogger

The rear defogger is another safety feature of the Mahindra BE 6 to maintain high visibility. The defoggers clear the fog or condensation accumulated on the car’s windshield.
