MG (Morris Garages) has introduced great cars like the Hector, Astor, and Gloster. The brand is known for packing their cars with tech and new features, which people love. Now, with Auto Expo 2025 starting from 17th January, it’s exciting to see what they’ll do next as a brand to continue the legacy. MG has already set the bar high with their smart designs and tech, so we expect a lot. Here’s what we think they might show this year!
MG M9 MPV

The new M9 (sold as the Mifa 9 abroad) will be sold through the MG Select channel. It will be back in India after being shown at the 2023 Auto Expo. However, MG didn’t materialize anything at that point. The M9 is an all-electric MPV with a front-wheel drive setup. It is expected to come with a 90kWh battery that claims a range of 430km.
As for dimensions, the M9 is a huge car standing 5.2 metres long and will be available in both 7- and 8-seater options. It will be loaded to the brim with second-row captain chairs (plus powered ottoman and a massage function), three-zone climate control, a touchscreen panel for the second row, ventilated seats, dual sunroofs, powered sliding rear doors, and rear entertainment screens. The launch is set for March 2025, and it will likely be built locally, with prices around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom) making it a worthy contender to the Toyota Vellfire at a very competitive price.
MG Cyberster

The Cyberster will be MG’s first proper sports car and the brand’s first model to be sold via MG’s select dealerships. It has been showcased in India before, but this time, MG will finally announce prices. The Cyberster is based on a born-electric platform and will be offered with a 77kWh battery pack capable of producing 510hp and 725Nm of peak torque. This setup enables the Cyberster to go from 0-100kph in 3.2 seconds. MG claims a maximum range of 580km on a single charge.
The open-top, two-door sportscar has classic proportions and a sleek new design language that’s reminiscent of MG’s historic sporting heritage. At the front, it will get LED headlights that stretch back and vents to keep the battery cool. It will also get special electric scissor doors that are super safe with radar sensors to spot obstacles and a bounce-back feature to stop accidents. Inside the Cyberster, there’s a curved screen setup with three displays, including one for entertainment and another with smart driving features (ADAS).
MG ZS Hev

The ZS EV has already been shown before in India, and now MG is all set to show the new ZS with a hybrid engine at the upcoming Auto Expo. It is expected to be properly launched between 2025 – 2028 as the next gen Astor. Under the hood it will likely feature a 1.5-liter petrol engine and a 136hp electric motor. This setup will be paired with a 3-speed automatic gearbox that drives the front wheels. There is also a real possibility for it to come with a turbocharged version. The SUV will get fresh looks with an updated interior and a long feature list including a 12.3-inch touchscreen, ADAS Level 2 safety, and heated seats. It accelerates from 0-100kph in 8.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 167kph.
Summary
2025 marks half a decade for MG! With the launch of Hector in 2019, they had spiced things up in the compact SUV market which Creta ruled and gave Indians a taste of what a feature loaded car looked like with a very fresh design. And with their recent team-up with JSW Group, they aim to grow and focus more on electric cars. They’re here to stay and make their mark among the top 5 car brands in India. With launches like the MG M9 MPV, MG Cyberster, and MG ZS HEV, they’re making the right moves!
