Step-by-Step Guide on How to Apply for Transfer of Vehicle Ownership in Gurgaon

Here’s a step-by-step guide that reveals how to transfer RC in Noida: 

Step 1: Visit the Parivahan Website

The official website of transport department i.e. Parivahan Sewa offers all the services related to vehicles. So, you should visit this website to initiate the process of RC transfer. 

Step 2: Choose Your State & RTO

Once you open this website, you must choose your state and RTO which will be Uttar Pradesh and RTO UP-16 respectively. After that, you will be redirected to a new page. 

Step 3: Fill the Application Forms

The new page will be the RTO transfer application forms viz. Form 29 and 30. Fill these forms with all the required details. Ensure that your name, DOB, and other details are spelled and entered correctly. Any discrepancy can lead to inconvenience later and therefore, you must cross-check these forms before submitting them. 

Step 4: Submit the Documents

Along with the RC transfer application, you must also submit some documents. These documents include: 

1. Original copy of the RC book
2. Insurance certificate 
3. Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate
4. Aadhaar Card, Pan Card, Passport or any of your identity proofs
5. Utility bill, voter id, or any of your address proof
6. Passport-sized photographs (both buyers and sellers photographs are to be uploaded)
7. If there was a loan on the vehicle initially, the owner must also submit the NOC issued by the financing company or bank 
8. Road tax receipt or certificate 

Ensure that the previous vehicle owner has paid the road tax, especially if the vehicle is from another state. If not, you’ll have to pay the road tax again while re-registering the vehicle in Noida. 

The road tax is determined as a percentage of the ex-showroom price of the vehicle when it was purchased. It is 9% for vehicles above Rs. 20,00,000 and 8% for vehicles ranging between Rs. 10,00,000 to Rs. 20,00,000. So, we recommend validating this before purchasing the vehicle and completing the RC transfer process. 

Step 5: Pay the RTO Transfer Fees

After submitting the documents, you must pay the RTO transfer fees. This fee is generally half of the original vehicle registration fee. 

For instance, the RTO registration fees for motorcycles is Rs. 300 whereas for four vehicles/cars/light motor vehicles it is Rs. 600.

Step 6: Schedule an appointment with RTO Noida

Once  you have completed the online application form and documents, you’ll also have to schedule an appointment with RTO Noida. This is mandatory to complete the document verification process. It is recommended that you carry the original documents mentioned above while visiting RTO Noida on the scheduled date. 

Step 7: Receive the Registration Certificate

Once the verification is successful, you will receive a new Registration certificate within a month. Usually it takes a couple of weeks or even less as it depends on the workload and other issues with your RTO application.

Transfer of Ownership of Vehicle Online in Noida

The process is to be initiated online on the official website of Parivahan Sewa. Once you’ve submitted the form and documents online, you can schedule an appointment at RTO Noida. This is essential for completing the documentation process. 

Once the verification is complete, you’ll receive the new RC on your registered address. The application will be rejected if the RTO finds any anomalies while processing your form. In this case, you’ll have to apply again for RC transfer. 

Note: Earlier the online application service was not offered by RTO Noida. However, they are providing it now through the Parivahan Sewa portal. 

Required Document & Fees for Transfer of Ownership of Vehicle in Noida

The documents required to transfer the RC are mentioned above. The fees for transfer of ownership depends on the vehicle type. It also varies from one RTO to another. It usually is between Rs. 300 to Rs. 2000 depending upon the RTO and vehicle category.
