Read moreThe elegant mid-size sedan, Hyundai Verna has been around for over 16 years and is the strongest challenger of Honda City. The latest generation of Hyundai Verna stands apart from the rest with its enthralling fluidic design and is 4,440 mm long, 1,729 mm wide, 1,475 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The Korean carmaker has equipped Verna with three engine options: 1.5 litre petrol engine, 1.5 litre diesel engine, and 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. Both petrol and diesel engines come with 6-speed manual transmissions, while petrol engine also gets CVT automatic and diesel engine also gets 6-speed torque converter automatic. The turbo petrol engine comes with a 7-speed DCT automatic only. The Hyundai Verna is capable of delivering 17.7 – 19.2 kmpl with petrol, and 21.3 – 25.0 kmpl with diesel.The safety equipment of Hyundai Verna consists of up to six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, traction control, hill start assist, and ABS with EBD among others. The Korean carmaker has loaded Verna in typical Hyundai fashion and given it everything expected of premium mid-size sedan such as 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamys sound system, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, hands-free boot opening, electric sunroof, Hyundai Blue Link connectivity, and others.The Hyundai Verna was launched in India in 2006 for the first time. At the time, it was made available with a 1.6 litre petrol engine and 1.5 litre diesel engine. In 2010, Verna received a facelift and got some cosmetic updates. In 2011, it again received a facelift in which the sedan got its fluidic design and the engines were replaced by a 1.4 litre petrol engine, 1.4 litre diesel engine, 1.6 litre petrol engine, and a 1.6 litre diesel engine. The next-generation Verna was launched in 2017 and got facelifted in 2020.
