Mahindra has taken the covers off the long-awaited lifestyle pick-up truck named the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler. Marking Mahindra’s return to the lifestyle pick-up truck segment, the Scorpio Lifestyler shares its body-on-frame platform with the Mahindra Scorpio N. Still, it is not merely a pick-up truck version of the Scorpio N. Mahindra has confirmed that the Scorpio Lifestyler’s price range will start at under Rs. 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom), which means it will significantly undercut its rivals, Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. Here is a closer look at the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Design

Despite sharing its platform with the Mahindra Scorpio N, the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler looks bolder and more imposing. Up front, the Scorpio Lifestyler features a large rectangular chrome-studded grille flanked by high-set boxy LED headlamps. The ‘Scorpio’ wordmark is placed on the bonnet’s edge. Lower down is a massive bumper with a netted air dam and vertically stacked LED fog lamps with black surrounds. In profile, the Scorpio Lifestyler gets a dual-cab configuration, dual-tone 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, chunky side cladding, and sturdy roof rails. At the rear, the Scorpio Lifestyler gets boxy LED taillamps, ‘MAHINDRA’ lettering embossed on the tailgate, and a rugged bumper.
Mahindra will offer the Scorpio Lifestyler in three editions: Valley Edition, Reef Edition and Trail Edition. To represent environments like mountains, oceans, and deserts, these editions are finished in Artemis Grey, Aquareef, and Sahara Beige and feature specific decals and accessories.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Interior & Features

While Mahindra has not revealed the interior of the Scorpio Lifestyler, its teaser confirms that it gets an upmarket, modern interior. A massive portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system dominates an upright dashboard. Below the touchscreen sit a climate control panel and various physical controls. Other notable elements include a new four-spoke squarish steering wheel with multiple physical controls, a digital instrument cluster, and rotary dials for the 4X4 drivetrain.
In terms of features, the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler packs a massive touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, single-pane sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, powered and ventilated front seats, push-button start/stop, keyless entry, and an upmarket sound system.
While Mahindra has not revealed the Scorpio Lifestyler’s safety features, it is expected to be equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 540-degree camera, hill hold assist, hill descent control, and a Level-2 ADAS suite.
Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler: Engine & Transmission
Mahindra has not revealed the engine and transmission options of the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler. However, it is expected to get the same engine and transmission as the Mahindra Scorpio N. These include a 2-litre turbo petrol engine producing up to 203 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The other is a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine that produces up to 175 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic. The petrol variants come only with a rear-wheel-drive set-up, and the diesel variants are available with both rear-wheel-drive and Mahindra’s ‘4XPLOR’ four-wheel-drive system with shift-on-fly functionality.
