With recent spy shots revealing the Tata Nexon’s exterior design sans camouflage, a fresh new computer render of the SUV’s design has finally revealed how the facelift would look like. Based on the render from Autocar India, it is clear that the Nexon is all set to draw cosmetic elements from the Harrier EV and Curvv concepts to bring in a completely new design onboard, which could also serve as the template for the much-awaited Safari and Harrier facelifts scheduled to launch in the months ahead. Here’s everything you should know about the Tata Nexon facelift’s design.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Exterior Design and Changes

It is now clear that the updated Tata Nexon is all set to offer a look that is far more modern and elegant with changes rendering the SUV an evolutionary new look that is in no way reminiscent of the present model.

Talking about the front, the fender as well as the bonnet has been completely redesigned to incorporate the new split-headlamp set-up that looks absolutely dashing. The bonnet itself has been given a raised impression with edge-contouring for a more assertive look. A noteworthy inclusion onboard the facelifted Nexon is the new LED DRL setup that is offered as a high-positioned band on either side of the logo, tastefully blending with the slimmer grille.

The bumpers have been redesigned as well to look taller, wider and more appealing with C-shaped cutouts that house the headlamp and foglamp clusters. This gives a sense of depth and makes the overall appeal of the front profile look bulky. The signature Y-shaped motifs that the current Nexon features are completely done away with.

And since the new Nexon will be a facelift rather than a generation update, there won’t be a lot of changes to the overall profile. The glass area and doors will continue to resemble the previous model albeit with a few changes such as the exclusion of the plastic cladding on the door and the omission of the contrasting band that ran across the windows to the rear. The allows however will offer a new look with a petal-like design.

Coming to the rear profile, the Nexon Facelift will offer completely reworked styling with elements such as pushed-out C-shaped cutouts matching the theme at the front, and rendering the SUV a wider look. Staying abreast of modern-day competitors, the facelift will also bring in a new connected-LED cluster bar that splits across the edges along with a new roof-mounted spoiler that intelligently houses the rear wiper.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Interiors

Interiors of the new Tata Nexon Facelift will be as exciting as the exteriors with spy shots hinting towards a completely redesigned dashboard panel with larger touch infotainment, a new fully digital instrument cluster, touch-based centre console and twin-spoke steering with media controls.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Powertrain

As far as the powertrain is concerned, the Nexon is likely to retain its existing 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine along with the 1.5-litre diesel engine. However, if reports are to be believed a new DCT gearbox is likely to join the fleet.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Launch Date

Scheduled to be launched by mid-September, the Nexon Facelift will be an exciting addition to Tata’s portfolio. And considering the massive popularity of the Nexon, the facelift is likely to give the SUV’s sales a well-deserved push. But with a host of new updates likely to be offered both inside and out, the price is expected to rise as well. Upon launch, the Nexon Facelift will lock horns with segment rivals like the second-generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300.
