Skoda has finally brought in its highly awaited luxury sedan, the all-new Octavia. The brand had unveiled the specifications of 4th generation Octavia ahead of the launch to ease-off your process of appraising it. So, what exactly is the all-new Skoda Octavia 2021, let’s dive right into it.

Skoda has finely kept the exterior styling of the cars in line with its ongoing design language. The front view gives away the creases and body lines narrowing to the nose, and meeting the sedate butterfly-designed Skoda grille delineated by a chrome line, and flanked with sleek LED headlamps and L-shaped DRLs.

The side view projects a gracefully tapered roofline to the rear, providing the car a blended appearance of fastback and coupe. The car is 19mm longer and 15mm wider than the earlier generation and its riveting grooves, creases, sleek curves especially at the rear end reflect the resemblance of Skoda Superb.

A 600-litre electronically operated boot space and split tail lights are stand-out features. The boot is bigger than most SUVs in the same segment and the rear seats can be folded to free more boot space, in case you need it. The tailgate can be opened hands-free by simply waving your foot under the rear bumper.

  • Coupe-design
  • Split LED tail lights
  • Sharp muscular silhouette
  • 17-inch alloy wheels

Skoda Octavia Interiors

The interior sees a major luxurious update that rivals the best luxury cars in the market. Well-contoured upholstery with suede leather raises the comfort to the next-level, as does the marvellously sculpted spacious cabin. A highly responsive 10-inch touchscreen is positioned just below the dash line for unobstructed vision of the road and it consists of short-cuts to climate controls ESC, fatigue alert system, and parking assist. Shift-by-wire gear selector provides ample room for a spacious cubby hole enclosing a big wireless charging pad and 2 USB-C slots.

Broad and electrically adjustable front seats with memory function serve exceedingly well for back and thigh support. The ambient lighting, Canton sound system, 4 USB-C slots (2 front and 2 rear), and touch lights are the most salient premium features. A completely digital dash can draw navigation signals through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, so the driver doesn’t need to look at the touchscreen to navigate the car.

The engine will churn out 190 PS of power and 320 Nm peak torque, which is significantly higher than the previous generation 1.8 TSI engine with 180 PS and 250 Nm peak torque.

Skoda Octavia variants

Skoda has brought in the new Octavia in two variants with the lower variant named ‘Style’ and the higher variant named ‘L&K’ short for Laurin and Klement. Although both of the variants are well-equipped and feature-rich, the L&K variant does spec a bit more comfort than the Style variant. Both the front seats in the L&K variant are electronically adjustable as compared to only one in Style variant. Electrically operated tailgate and Canton sound system with 11 speakers and 1 subwoofer are additional luxuries in the Skoda Octavia L&K variant.

Skoda Octavia Price

Skoda has finally revealed the ex-showroom prices of both variants of the car. For the style variant, it will be 25.99 Lakhs and for the L&K variant (Laurin and Klement) it will be 28.99 Lakhs. The car will be a tough rival for Hyundai Elantra and could tempt some people away from the entry-level BMW and Mercedes sedans.
