Mahindra has launched the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq at Rs. 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom) as the starting price. The BE 6 Sporteq is the updated version of the Mahindra BE 6 that was launched in November 2024. In addition to rechristening it, Mahindra has updated the electric SUV by adding multiple new features and a new 70 kWh battery pack option. The Indian carmaker has also introduced BaaS (Battery as a Service) for the BE 6 Sporteq, making it the first Mahindra car to offer this scheme. Here is a closer look at the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq: Design and Dimensions

Dimensionally, the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq is unchanged from its predecessor, BE 6. Like the BE 6, the BE 6 Sporteq is 4,371 mm long, 1,907 mm wide, 1,627 mm tall, and has a 2,775 mm long wheelbase. Moreover, it has 207 mm of ground clearance, 455 litres of boot space, and a 45-litre frunk.

The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq retains the BE 6 design, with the only key update being the ‘SPORTEQ’ badge and a new Launch Edition, which comes with an exclusive Graphite Storm exterior paint. Like the BE 6, the BE 6 Sporteq features 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lights all around, customisable LED tail-lamp text displays, flush-fitting door handles, and a fixed panoramic glass roof.

The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq is available in 9 exterior colour options: Ruby Velvet, Rosso Impulso, Graphite Storm, Tango Red, Firestorm Orange, Deep Forest, Desert Myst, Everest White, and Stealth Black. Of these colour options, Ruby Velvet, Rosso Impulso, and Graphite Storm are new, while others have been carried forward from the BE 6.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq: Interior and Features

Inside, there are some notable changes. The BE 6 Sporteq gets a redesigned, simpler, horizontally laid-out dashboard that replaces the curved trim around the driver’s seat, freeing up more storage space and improving access to the wireless charging pad and USB Type-C ports. The biggest update is that higher variants now feature a triple-screen layout, as on the Mahindra XEV 9e and Mahindra XEV 9S. However, the Formula E Edition continues with the dual-screen layout. Meanwhile, the Launch Edition gets an exclusive full tan interior theme.

With the BE 6 Sporteq, Mahindra has introduced six new TEQ technology suites. For example, TEQ_Me, which automatically recognises the driver and loads a personalised user profile, and TEQ_Drive, which adds functions such as Custom Drive Mode, Tribe Drive, Drift Mode, Acceleration Boost, and the new Revive SOS feature. Mahindra claims that the Revive SOS can deliver enough charge to drive the vehicle up to 13 km to the nearest charging station after the battery completely drains. One can use Revive SOS up to five times during the battery’s lifetime.

In addition to that, the BE 6 Sporteq carries forward the previous package, which consists of a panoramic glass roof, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual wireless phone chargers, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat with memory function, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, a head-up display, a 540-degree camera, and more.

For safety equipment, the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq offers up to 7 airbags (6 standard), electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, front and rear parking sensors, hill-hold assist, traction control, and a Level-2 ADAS safety suite.
