In terms of size, the Maruti Brezza is 25 mm wider, and 135 mm taller, but has a 20 mm shorter wheelbase as compared to the Maruti Fronx. However, these dimensional differences are likely to not make any tangible difference in the interior space of both cars, except for the better headroom in Brezza. Moreover, the longer wheelbase of the Fronx eats into its boot space, making the 328 litre luggage carrying capacity of the Brezza a little more attractive than that of the Fronx.

While both cars are compact SUVs, their looks are poles apart from each other. From the front, the Maruti Fronx looks like a miniaturised Grand Vitara due to the upright nose, NEXwave grille with a chrome bar, and triple-cube LED DRLs. Lower down, the triple-cube headlamps lamps with triangular housing give it the styling bits of the Hyundai Creta. The side profile is carried over from the Baleno, making the Maruti Fronx look like a sophisticated coupe SUV, while the rear end sports the sleek triple seven-pattern tail lamps connected by an LED light bar, chunky rear bumper, and faux skid plate giving the Fronx a sporty aesthetics.

On the other hand, the Maruti Brezza sports a boxy silhouette and looks like a very practical SUV. The front end looks butch with an upright bonnet, and the chunky black cladding extending over wheel arches and then across the lower part of the SUV. Moreover, the slender squarish dual-LED headlamps neatly merge with the chunky gunmetal-coloured grille. The side profile highlights the upright stance and the blacked-out A, B, and C pillars. The rear profile looks muscular due to the slender horizontally placed tail lamp, and muscular bumper with faux skid plate and black cladding.

Both engines of the Maruti Fronx are smaller than the one on the Maruti Brezza. However, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol Boosterjet engine of the Maruti Fronx, that was earlier offered on the previous-gen Baleno RS in India in 2017, offers a more performance-oriented character compared to the Brezza. Therefore, it will certainly augment Fronx’s appeal to driving enthusiasts.

The interiors of both SUVs look premium and noticeably similar with the dual-tone dashboards, the trapezoidal framings of 9-inch touchscreens, and the trapezoidal central AC vents. However, the dashboard of Fronx has a layered effect similar to that of the Baleno. While both cars are amply tech-laden to ensure a comfortable and entertaining passenger experience, the Maruti Brezza being the elder sibling goes a few leaps ahead with a cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, projector headlamps, rear arm-rest with cup holders, and a single-pane sunroof. Both cars offer a head-up display and 360-degree camera.
