The Japanese carmaker has launched the 2026 Honda City facelift at a starting price of Rs 12 lakh. This is the second mid-life cycle update of the 5th-generation Honda City, which launched in 2020; the first one was in 2023. With a new design, the new City comes with a few more features; however, the same engine options. Let’s take a closer look at the new Honda City.
2026 Honda City Facelift: Design and Dimensions

The new Honda City is 4,594 mm long, 1,748 mm wide, 1,489 mm tall, and has a 2,600 mm long wheelbase. With such dimensions, the City remains one of the most spacious cars in its segment.
The new Honda City gets a more modern and contemporary design, while retaining the sedan’s overall elegant appeal. The front end features a new and more prominent grille with a honeycomb pattern, sharp LED projector headlamps, and two-part eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs connected by a light bar. Moreover, the revised bumper features a larger air intake and new triangular air ducts on either side. Over to the side, not much has changed; however, the new City rides on new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, the City gets revised tail lamps, a dual-tone bumper with reflectors tucked along the edges, and a new body-coloured faux diffuser.
For the colour options, Honda continues to offer the City in Radiant Red, Obsidian Blue, Platinum White, Cognac Silver, Meteoroid Grey, while the brand has introduced a new Crystal Black exterior theme.
2026 Honda City Facelift: Interior and Features

On the inside, the Honda City continues with the same dashboard layout as the previous model. Other elements that have been carried forward are the dual-tone black and beige interior theme, the AC vents, the centre console, and the semi-digital instrument cluster. However, the sedan gets a new, larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, which slightly juts out, instead of being fully integrated into the dashboard like the previous model.
In terms of features, the new Honda City continues to offer an 8-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, connected car tech, a single-pane sunroof, an electronic parking brake, a rear windscreen sunblind, and the addition of a 360-degree camera and front ventilated seats.
For safety features, the new Honda City offers 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, ESC, TPMS, hill-start assist, rain-sensing wipers, and a Level-2 ADAS safety suite, consisting of lane watch, collision mitigation, and adaptive cruise control.
2026 Honda City Facelift: Engine and Transmission
The 2026 Honda City carries forward the engine and transmission options from the outgoing model. So, the powertrain options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated i-VTEC engine, which produces 121 PS power and 145 Nm peak torque, and is mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT automatic. The strong hybrid Honda City gets a 1.5-litre strong hybrid unit that produces 126 PS and 253 Nm of peak torque, and is mated to an e-CVT automatic. As before, the strong hybrid Honda City can deliver up to 27.26 km/l.

Like the previous model, the new Honda City is available in four variants: SV, V, ZX and ZX+, and the strong-hybrid option is limited to the top ZX+ variant. The price of base variants of the Honda City has not changed, but the top ZX+ is Rs. 1.08 lakh pricier than the previous top model. Moreover, the City e: HEV has also received a price increment of Rs. 1 lakh.
With these prices, the new Honda City will continue to rival the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Hyundai Verna.
