The Indo-Japanese carmaker has launched the 2026 facelift of the beloved Maruti Baleno at an ex-showroom price starting at Rs. 6.10 lakh. For now, the brand has announced only the starting base Sigma variant price. The entire variant-wise price list is yet to be revealed. With this mid-lifecycle facelift, the Maruti Baleno has received minor design updates, new features, and a new engine. Here is a lowdown on the 2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift.

Key updates:

  • Maruti’s new Z12E 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine.
  • Level-2 ADAS safety suite
  • Ventilated front seats

2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift: Engine & Transmission

The biggest update is that the 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift comes with Maruti’s new Z-series 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which also powers the Maruti Swift and Maruti Dzire. This engine makes 83 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque, and comes with two transmission options: a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT. Like the pre-facelift Baleno, the new Baleno is available in CNG variants, where the same engine produces 70 PS of power and 102 Nm of torque and is mated only to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift: Dimensions & Design

The 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift has the same dimensions as the pre-facelift model. It is 3,990 mm long, 1,745 mm wide, 1,530 mm tall, with a 2,520 mm wheelbase and 318-litre boot space.

Design changes are mostly limited to the face of the popular hatchback. The only major update is a new, larger grille, which gets horizontal chrome stripes and sharper gloss-black elements to add some aggression. Other upfront updates include redesigned fog lamps and a new bumper to accommodate a larger grille. The large swept-back LED headlamps with three-block daytime running lamps are the same as before. In profile, the new Baleno is the same as the pre-facelift Baleno, with the same 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, chromed door handles and window lines, and a curvy roofline. Nonetheless, the chrome accents on the front fenders are new. Not much has changed at the rear either, except for the reprofiled bumper.

The new Maruti Baleno is available with one new Enigmatic Teal exterior paint option, in addition to the existing options: Nexa Blue, Grandeur Grey, Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, and Bluish Black.

Like the exterior, everything inside is largely the same as in the pre-facelift model. The new Baleno gets the same layered dashboard with a large silver inlay and a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. The dual-dial analogue instrument cluster with a colour MID, the three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, and the physical HVAC buttons have all been carried over.

The key additions in the features department are a wireless charger with cooling, a new Clarion-branded sound system, and segment-first ventilated front seats. Other than these, the Baleno continues to offer a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a head-up display, automatic climate control, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, power-adjustable ORVMs, height-adjustable driver seat, and more.

For safety equipment, the new 2026 Maruti Baleno gets a big, segment-first addition: a Level-2 ADAS suite that includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, emergency braking, high-beam assist, and more. Other safety features include six airbags across trims, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-hold assist, rear parking sensors, a new tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, rear wipers, rear washer and defogger, and others.
