JSW MG Motor India has exhibited the new MG Majestor SUV at the Auto Expo 2025. While the Majestor is essentially the facelifted MG Gloster, it will be positioned above the Gloster, and both will be sold alongside each other. The MG Gloster was first launched in 2020 and has been due a facelift since then. Now, with the MG Majestor coming onto the scene, JSW MG Motor aims to strongly challenge the likes of the segment-leader Toyota Fortuner. Here is everything you need to know about the MG Majestor.
MG Majestor: Design
Compared to the MG Gloster, the MG Majestor looks quite different, especially due to a more prominent blacked-out grille with horizontal slats, and an oversized MG logo. Flanking the grille are the split headlamps with sleek LED DRLs positioned above the vertically stacked headlamps. Moreover, there is a rugged-looking silver skid plate with tooth-like elements, along with black cladding that stretches length-wise, adding some muscle. While the side profile looks majorly the same as that of the Gloster, there are newly designed 5-spoke diamond-cut 19-inch alloy wheels, a chrome-finished running board, and some blacked-out elements on door handles and ORVMs. At the back, the MG Majestor gets wraparound connected tail-lights, however, the rear bumper design, dual-exhaust pipes, and chunky skid plate look like those of the Gloster.
MG Majestor: Interior and Features
Since the MG Majestor model showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 has tinted windows, not much can be made out about the interior. However, the spy shots of the SUV have given away the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, an all-digital instrument cluster with customisable interfaces, and an all-black interior theme. In terms of features, the MG Majestor is expected to offer everything the MG Gloster does and more. For reference, the MG Gloster offers a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated driver seats with power adjust and massage function, a heated front passenger seat, three-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker music system, and a powered tailgate. So, all these features can be expected of the MG Majestor with some additional upmarket perks.
In terms of safety equipment, the MG Majestor can offer multiple airbags, 360-degree cameras, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a Level-2 ADAS safety suite, and more.
MG Majestor: Engine and Transmission
The MG Majestor is expected to bring the same 2-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine from the MG Gloster. This engine produces 216 hp power and 479 Nm peak torque and is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Like the Gloster, the MG Majestor is expected to be available with both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrains.
MG Majestor: Price and Rivals
Since the Majestor is expected to be priced higher than the MG Gloster which costs Rs 39.57 – 44.74 Lakh (ex-showroom), the MG Majestor is expected to be priced around Rs 40 – 45 lakh. Like the MG Gloster, the MG Majestor will take on the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq, and Nissan X-Trail.
