Compact SUVs have been a rage in India ever since the Ford EcoSport started the trend way back in 2013, and today these control a sizable share of the market. A brief look at numbers for Jan 2022.
Hyundai Venue
11,377 units of the Hyundai Venue were sold in January 2022 making it the highest selling compact SUV in January 2022. However, compared to January 2021 the numbers were down by 3%.
Tata Punch
The newest addition to the Tata stable, the Punch was launched in October 2021 and has made its mark in the compact SUV segment. It sold 10,027 units in January 2022, bagging the 2nd position.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
The sales numbers for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in January 2022 took a 10% hit with 9,576 units sold. Comparatively, 10,623 units were sold in January 2021.
Kia Sonet
6,904 units of the Kia Sonet were sold in January 2022. However, compared to Jan 2021, which saw 8,859 units being sold, the numbers have taken a massive 22% plunge.
Mahindra XUV 300
4,550 units of the XUV300 were sold in January 2022, the numbers saw a dip of 1% compared to January 2021 which saw the sale of 4,612 XUV300s.
