The current range includes the X3 20 xDrive petrol, X3 20d xDrive diesel and the newer X3 30 xDrive petrol. All three use 48V mild-hybrid assistance, an 8-speed automatic transmission and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. Used BMW X3 cars can also be explored on Spinny.

BMW X3 Exterior Images

The latest X3 boasts more upright and bolder styling than the previous generation. Slightly larger surfaces, broad form and elevated-looking front part help create an impressive appearance, while the illuminated kidney grille and sophisticated headlights underline the modernity of the design.

It measures 4,755 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,660 mm tall, with a 2,865 mm wheelbase. The X3 20 xDrive and 20d xDrive use 19-inch M alloy wheels, while the X3 30 xDrive moves to larger 20-inch M alloys with wider rear tyres.

Front Profile

Viewing the BMW X3 from the front reveals its spectacular large kidney grille with the BMW Iconic Glow illumination. Either side of the grille features the slim adaptive LED headlamps, while the double light signature makes the SUV easy to recognise in the dark.

The lower bumper uses large air intakes and sharply defined surfaces, particularly on the M Sport versions. The X3 30 xDrive adds an even sportier treatment with darker trim and M Sport details.

Side Profile

The side perspective emphasises the wheelbase of 2865 mm as well as the wide and vertical contour of the X3. The flat roof preserves the headroom in the back seat while smooth door handles and clean body lines create a modern side profile of the car.

The X3 20 xDrive and 20d xDrive use 19-inch M Y-spoke alloy wheels. The X3 30 xDrive gets 20-inch M alloys with 255/45 R20 front and 285/40 R20 rear tyres, giving it a noticeably more performance-focused stance.

Rear Profile

The rear view features a trendy LED taillight design with sharp internal elements. The roof spoiler is located right above the back window, while the structure of the back door and the relief bumper help to highlight the width of the SUV.

The powered tailgate opens to a large luggage compartment, while M Sport versions use darker lower-bumper detailing. Overall, the current X3 exterior combines a more substantial SUV shape with modern lighting and restrained performance styling.

BMW X3 Interior Images

Inside, the BMW X3 comes with a simply designed dashboard, with the BMW Curved Display being the main feature in the vehicle’s cabin. The latest model includes illuminated décor, a BMW Interaction Bar and a distinctive central storage area equipped with illuminated ambient crystal design.

The upholstery is vegan Veganza, offered in colours such as Espresso Brown and Calm Beige. Higher equipment levels add more premium audio, seat ventilation and additional driver-assistance technology.

Key Highlights

  • 12.3-inch digital instrument display
  • Ventilated sport seats with lumbar adjustment
  • Panoramic glass roof and three-zone climate control

Dashboard & Front Seats

The BMW Curved Display consists of a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The operating system used in the vehicle is BMW Operating System 9, which is responsible for navigation, connectivity, vehicle settings and entertainment, while wireless smartphone integration eliminates the need to use cables.

The front sport seats provide electric adjustment, lumbar support and ventilation. A wireless charging area, ambient lighting and the panoramic glass roof help give the front cabin a more premium and open feel. The X3 30 xDrive also adds a higher-output Harman Kardon system and extra M Sport detailing.

Second Row

The BMW X3 can seat five passengers, with three of them being placed on a rear seat bench. The length of the wheelbase of 2,865 mm guarantees plenty of knee and head space for passengers, and a flat roof design makes the second row able to accommodate taller passengers easily.

Rear passengers get dedicated climate controls as part of the three-zone system, along with charging provisions and a centre armrest. The rear backrest uses a 40:20:40 split, making it easier to carry longer luggage while retaining one or two rear seating positions.

Boot Space

With the back seat in place, the boot of the BMW X3 has a capacity of 570 litres. The luggage compartment is generously sized and is well shaped for carrying bags or plenty of cases while travelling with the family.

Folding the 40:20:40 rear seatbacks creates significantly more cargo room. A space-saver spare wheel is stored beneath the boot floor on the India-spec model, while the powered tailgate makes loading and unloading easier.

Generally, in the case of the X3 interior, digital features have complemented the practical space in the back seats as well as the cargo area.

BMW X3 Colour Options

The current BMW X3 is offered in a small selection of premium exterior colours, with availability varying slightly by variant. The X3 30 xDrive also adds a sportier Brooklyn Grey option alongside the colours shared with the rest of the range.
