New car buyers are increasingly looking at EVs as their next car, and with range anxiety being a big issue, we take a look at ten EVs offering the highest range under Rs. 30 lakhs.
Electric vehicles are a great form of personal mobility. They are silent, emit zero emissions, undergo less wear and tear compared to regular cars, and are also quite fast. However, while a regular car can be topped up with fuel in a matter of a few minutes, electric vehicles take a longer time to replenish their range. Furthermore, with EV charging infrastructure not at the same level as petrol pump infrastructure in India, replenishing the range of an EV becomes an even tougher task.
To combat this issue, car makers have been furiously working on increasing the range of their electric vehicles. In a matter of few years, Indian car makers have dramatically increased the range of their electric vehicles, making them more feasible for private car buyers who use their vehicles for commuting daily as well as highway journeys. If you are looking for an EV, we have listed 10 EVs with the highest range under Rs. 30 lakh on sale in India today.
List of EVs with the Highest Range Under Rs 30 Lakh
In choosing the cars on this list, we have stuck to some basic rules. Certain EVs are offered with multiple battery pack options. In such a case, we have only considered the battery pack which offers more range while satisfying our price criteria, and the price mentioned in the table is for these battery pack variants only.

MG Windsor EV
The MG Windsor EV is one of the latest electric vehicles to be launched in India, and furthermore, MG has launched the Essence Pro variant of the crossover vehicle. It features a larger battery pack which pushes its range close to 450 km. While the new variant features a bigger battery pack, MG hasn’t upgraded the electric motor for an increased power output.
The Windsor EV Essence Pro features modern features such as a 15.6 inch touchscreen, 9 speaker Infinity audio system, a fixed pane glass roof and a powered tailgate. On the safety front, it gets 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control, disc brakes on all four wheels and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) among other features.
While the Windsor EV is an electric vehicle, the engineers at MG have tuned it for a conventional driving experience, meaning that it lacks that instant punch that has made EVs synonymous with performance. It is suited for those who have a moderate driving style, and prefer smoothness over outright acceleration.

However, as it’s an EV and is not bound by the sub 4 metre rules, the XUV400 is longer than its ICE cousin.
Mahindra has given the XUV400 a modern feature set. It gets an electric sunroof, 10.25 inch HD touchscreen, a similarly sized digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity and connected car tech. It is loaded with safety tech as well in the form of 6 airbags, hill hold assist, disc brakes on all four wheels, ESP, ISOFIX mounting points and TPMS. In terms of the driving experience, the XUV400 features a refined electric powertrain but it still packs a punch. You can adjust the power output with driving mode. What stands out is the ride quality as the XUV400 has a highly absorbent suspension setup that keeps things smooth inside the cabin.

While it has been around for a few years, the ZS EV still features all modern day features. A 10.1 inch touchscreen takes centre stage, and it is responsible for controlling a lot of the features. The driver also gets a 7 inch instrument cluster. There is connected car tech as well and a panoramic sunroof lends the cabin a premium ambience. However, it’s the Level 2 ADAS system which is the highlight of the safety package and the ZS EV also has a 5 star safety rating from Global NCAP.
Just like other electric cars from MG, the power delivery is tuned for comfort rather than outright acceleration However, that said, the ZS EV packs enough power to outrun most cars of its size, and it’s softly set up suspension keeps things calm inside the cabin.

Like other BYD cars, the eMAX 7 also has a rotating touchscreen (12.8 inches). A 6 speaker sound system takes care of the audio duties. The driver and passenger seat offer 6 way electrical adjustment and the cabin ambience is uplifted by a fixed glass panoramic sunroof and the front seats are ventilated.
