India has very few two-door vehicles right now, definitely not enough to call it a classic market segment, but MG Motor India has introduced the MG Cyberster which could change that status. It's a modern all electric two-seat roadster designed to provide you with a powerful performance experience as well as stylish design and an open top drive experience. MG Motor India markets the Cyberster through the MG Select dealership chain created specifically for premium customers who are looking for lifestyle electric vehicles rather than mass market volume products. Underneath, the Cyberster uses a 77 kWh battery pack, paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing 510 PS and 725 Nm. MG claims 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and an MIDC-certified range of 580 km. Those are serious numbers, and they place the Cyberster in a very niche but interesting space: part sports car, part luxury EV, and part statement vehicle.

The MG Cyberster is definitely a breath of fresh air because it is a unique product in what is mostly a practical and boring segment of the automotive industry, the SUV. It is an impressive example of an electric two-seater convertible that tries to make as much of an impact visually as it does when you get close to it. The best thing about the Cyberster is that its visual wow factor is not just for show, as the powertrain, performance, range, chassis, and suspension demonstrate that MG has put some real thought and engineering into developing this vehicle. The Cyberster is not built for everyone, and that is exactly why it works. It is best understood as a lifestyle performance EV. Buyers looking for practicality first will naturally look elsewhere. But buyers who want something fast, rare, and memorable will find the Cyberster far more interesting than a conventional premium electric SUV.

| Pros | Distinctive roadster design that stands out instantly. | Strong dual-motor AWD performance with 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. | Electric scissor doors and soft-top roof add real sense of occasion. | Premium cabin materials and triple-screen layout feel modern. | 580 km MIDC-certified range is impressive for a performance EV. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cons | Strict two-seat layout limits practicality. | Very expensive for an MG badge in India. | Roadster body style makes it a niche purchase. | Boot space is usable but limited for long trips. | Not the kind of EV buyers choose for straightforward family use. |
"Exotic design due to the scissor doors / low ride height will attract attention where ever you take them but driving normally is still very smooth. "
"Exceptional performance, good range, but realistically you must be able to live with a two person car and limited trunk space. "
"Not everyone's daily driver, but as a fun electric roadster, this is an exceptional car! "
"Most other EVs have a logical approach, this EV has emotion/drama, so it stands out as so much more than most other vehicles. "
"While it is exhilarating to accelerate quickly, it’s really the premium/craftsmanship within the cabin that is impressive. "

Recent announcement by JSW MG Motor India about launching MG Cyberster on 25 July 2025, is a major development as it would create a new channel of premium products for MG under their Select Channel and will be the first flagship product after launch NORMA (non-regulated measure of agreement). Deliveries of MG Cyberster commenced on 10 August 2025. At launch, MG confirmed the India-spec Cyberster’s full powertrain details, range figure, and key feature list. The car arrived with its 77 kWh battery, 510 PS dual-motor setup, 725 Nm torque output, 3.2-second 0 to 100 km/h time, and 580 km MIDC-certified range. It also launched with standout design features such as electric scissor doors and a soft-top convertible roof, which remain two of its biggest talking points. MG has leveraged its experience centres to showcase the Cyberster as more than just another product in the range; it is intended to help build desire for the vehicle in addition to generating sales. The Cyberster is one of the most unique EVs sold by MG in India.
