Tata Motors has introduced the Sierra Dark Edition in India, adding a blacked-out exterior and a contrasting violet-themed interior to the SUV. The Dark Edition is available from the Pure L trim onwards and carries a premium over the corresponding standard Sierra variants.
Prices for the Tata Sierra Dark Edition start at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Pure L petrol-manual variant and go up to Rs 21.59 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec Accomplished+ diesel-automatic variant. The Dark Edition is available with all the powertrain options offered with the corresponding Sierra trims.
Tata Sierra Dark Edition Price
The Sierra Dark Edition is available across multiple trims and engine-gearbox combinations. It costs Rs 20,000 more than the standard Sierra on the Pure L trim, while the higher trims get a Rs 30,000 premium.

Tata Sierra Dark Edition Exterior Design
The biggest change with the Dark Edition is its exterior appearance. The SUV comes finished in a new Friesian Black paint shade as standard.
The exterior trim has also been given a blacked-out treatment instead of the chrome elements seen on the standard versions. The Tata badges and alloy wheels are darkened to match the theme.
The Dark Edition also gets ‘#DARK’ badging on the front fenders, helping distinguish it from the standard Sierra.
Overall, the exterior changes are focused on giving the Sierra a darker appearance without making changes to its underlying design.
Tata Sierra Dark Edition Interior
The black theme continues inside the cabin. The Sierra Dark Edition gets a black interior with violet metallic accents and purple stitching.
The violet metallic treatment is used on areas such as the AC vent bezels, door handles, front armrest and front seatbacks. The seats also get purple stitching, adding contrast to the otherwise dark cabin.
There are no changes to the interior layout or feature list compared with the corresponding standard Sierra variants.
Depending on the variant, the Sierra Dark Edition continues to offer features such as a triple-screen setup, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate and connected-car technology.
Higher variants also get features such as Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and a 12-speaker JBL Black sound system.
Tata Sierra Dark Edition Engine and Gearbox Options
The Tata Sierra Dark Edition does not get any mechanical changes. It is available with the same engine and gearbox combinations offered with the corresponding standard Sierra variants.
The SUV continues with three 1.5-litre engine options.
The naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 106hp and can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 118hp and is available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The third option is a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that produces 160hp. This engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Therefore, buyers choosing the Dark Edition can select from the same powertrain configurations available with the respective Sierra trims.

Since the Dark Edition is primarily a cosmetic package, the feature list remains unchanged from the standard Sierra variants.
