Tata Cars with 6 Airbags in India

Last updated 5 months ago

The last decade has seen Indian car makers ramp up their efforts to make their cars safer. This has been done by increasing the strength of the underlying structures of cars and by adding modern safety features as well. One such safety feature that gets a lot of attention are airbags.

Airbags are a passive safety feature in cars, and in the event of an accident, its job is to cushion you against harsh impacts. A higher number of airbags decreases the chances and severity of injuries to passengers in such a scenario. While Indian lawmakers have only made dual frontal airbags mandatory on new cars in India, mass market car makers have already started shifting towards offering 6 airbags as standard or on the higher variants of their cars.

One such car maker has been Tata Motors, and apart from excellent crash test ratings for their cars, the Indian car maker also offers safety features such as 6 airbags on many of their cars. In fact, some Tata cars even have 7 airbags on their higher variants, adding protection for the driver’s knee apart from the usual set of dual frontal, side and curtain airbags.
