Maruti Suzuki Alto K10

The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has long been the entry level offering from the Indian car maker. Not just that, the Alto has held the tag for the entry level offering in the Indian car market as a whole for years now. The hatchback continues to attract buyers with its compact footprint, easy maneuverability and low maintenance costs. In recent years, it has been updated with modern features such as a touchscreen and steering mounted controls which have become a staple in modern cars.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco

The Maruti Suzuki Eeco is one car that private car buyers don’t know a lot about, as it’s mostly used as a taxi for ferrying people or as an ambulance. Maruti Suzuki Celerio

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is considered an entry level hatchback but sits one step above the Alto K10 and just below the WagonR. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is one of the longest running nameplates in the Indian car market, with it now being 25 years old. Maruti Suzuki Swift

The Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks, not just from Maruti Suzuki, but in the Indian car market. Having gone through multiple generations and current in its fourth generation avatar, the Swift is one of the best handling hatchbacks in its price bracket. Furthermore, it gets an updated design that keeps the hatchback looking fresh, and modern features along with a practical interior means it continues to resonate with Indian buyers. Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The Baleno is retailed through Maruti Suzuki’s NEXA outlets signifying its premium positioning as a hatchback. Offered with only a petrol engine with a manual or an automatic transmission as option, the Baleno’s powertrain is refined and smooth. Furthermore, despite being positioned as a premium hatchback, it can also be equipped with a factory fitted CNG kit. On the safety front, the Baleno can be equipped with six airbags, but currently that option is limited to its top two Zeta and Alpha variants. Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire recently underwent a generation update, and in fact as of now, it is the only sedan made by the Indian car maker. The Dzire features the same three cylinder petrol engine that is found in the Swift, but in the design department, the compact sedan from Maruti Suzuki has taken a more mature direction of its own. It now looks more premium than before while forging its own design identity away from that of the Swift. The Dzire has also marked a new beginning for Maruti Suzuki. It became the first car from the Indian car maker to score a 5 star safety rating in a crash test conducted by Bharat NCAP. Maruti Suzuki Fronx

As of now, the three base Sigma, Delta and Delta+ variants are only available with dual airbags, whereas the rest of the variants are equipped with six airbags. Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is one of the highly popular SUVs from India’s leading car maker and it has long served as an able compact SUV that is practical, stylish and also easy to drive. The Jimny is one of the most different cars in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup. While most of the cars made by the Indian car maker are high volume models designed to appeal to the masses, the Jimny is a purpose-bred SUV designed to take on the toughest roads. The Jimny’s small size plays to its advantage as the SUV’s light weight design means that it is relatively easier to get out of a tricky situation. The presence of 4×4 hardware along with a dedicated low-range gearbox also makes the Jimny a beast to drive off the beaten path. The Jimny is relatively low on features but what it loses in features, it makes up for in sheer driving enjoyment.

The Jimny’s safety net consists of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold assist, hill descent control and ISOFIX mounting points for a child seat. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has proven to be a jack of all trades for the Indian car maker. While the Indian car maker had ditched diesel engines a long time ago, the Grand Vitara offers an array of powertrain choices for new car buyers, including fun-to-drive and fuel efficient powertrains. At first glance, it might seem like that the Grand Vitara features two naturally aspirated petrol engines. However, a closer look reveals that the first one is married to a mild hybrid system, and can be equipped with both manual and automatic transmissions, factory-fitted CNG kit (manual only) and even AWD (with automatic only). On the other hand, the second petrol engine is mated to an electric motor and makes for a strong hybrid powertrain that is highly fuel efficient and is only available with an automatic transmission.

All variants of the Grand Vitara are offered with six airbags as standard. Like other Maruti’s, ESP, hill hold assist and ISOFIX child seat mounting points are standard across the range as well. A tyre pressure monitoring system is also offered on the Grand Vitara on all variants of the SUV, except for the Sigma trim. Hill descent control is also offered on the SUV, albeit only with the AWD variant on the Alpha and Alpha (O) variants. Maruti Suzuki Invicto

The Maruti Suzuki Invicto is the flagship vehicle from the stable of India’s largest car maker, but it is no secret that underneath, it is really the Toyota Innova Hycross. Due to the cross badging efforts of the two manufacturers, the strong hybrid version of the Toyota MPV is available as the Invicto in Maruti Suzuki’s NEXA line-up of cars. Powered by a 2.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a strong hybrid system completing the powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is surprisingly fuel efficient. While Toyota sells its MPV with two powertrain options and in multiple variants, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto is only available with a single powertrain and in two variants.

Six airbags are standard on Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants of the Invicto. In recent times, Maruti Suzuki has been actively working on increasing the safety quotient of its entire line-up of cars by making six airbags standard on most of them. In fact, apart from the cars listed above, only the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, XL6, S-Presso and Ignis continue to not get the option of 6 airbags.
