The Indian carmaker has launched the much-awaited Mahindra XUV 7XO at the starting price of Rs 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom). These introductory prices are for the first 40,000 units, with bookings slated to open on 14 January 2026, and deliveries for select variants begin the same day and continue through April. The Mahindra XUV 7XO is essentially the facelifted Mahindra XUV700 and is Mahindra’s second model with Mahindra’s newer nomenclature after the XUV 3XO, which is the updated XUV300. Here is everything you need to know about the new Mahindra XUV 7XO.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Dimensions and Design

Mahindra XUV 7XO

Dimensionally, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is the same as its predecessor, the Mahindra XUV700. It is 4,695 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, 1,755 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm.

Like most facelifts, the Mahindra XUV 7XO has not changed much; however, there are enough updates to tell it is a new SUV. Some of the styling elements have been borrowed from Mahindra’s latest electric SUVs, XEV 9e and XEV 9S, for example. These elements include the boomerang-shaped DRLs, trapezoidal dual-pod LED projector headlights, revised tail lamps with honeycomb motif, and revised front grille with vertical slats, which is largely inspired by the first-ever Mahindra XUV500. The overall silhouette is the same as that of the outgoing Mahindra XUV700, though there are new 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that give it a better stance. With the black roof rails, the XUV 7XO look sportier than the outgoing model. At the rear, like its predecessor, the XUV 7XO features a clean and uncluttered tailgate, while the blacked-out rear bumper and silver skid plate add some muscle.

In terms of colour options, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is available in Desert Myst, Everest White, Nebula Blue, Stealth Black, Ruby Velvet, Galaxy Grey, and Midnight Black.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Interiors and Features

On the inside, the XUV 7XO is almost identical to the XEV 9S. There is a new posh triple-tone black, tan, and white interior theme, while the biggest highlight is the triple-screen setup at the dashboard. It consists of three 12.3-inch screens, one for the central infotainment system, one for the digital instrument cluster, and one dedicated screen for the front passenger. There is also a new two-spoke steering wheel and a touch-based panel for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). All the same, unlike the XEV 9S, the XUV 7XO does not feature a sliding function for the second-row seats.

In terms of features, the XUV 7XO offers a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and middle row seats, a powered front passenger seat with Boss Mode, a powered tail gate, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, dual-zone climate control, dual wireless phone chargers, a powered driver’s seat with memory function, and more.

For the safety equipment, the XUV 7XO packs in 7 airbags (6 as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake with auto hold, a Level-2 ADAS safety suite, and more. There is also a 540-degree camera, which gives a live feed from underneath the SUV.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Engine and Transmission

The powertrain options have been carried over from the outgoing Mahindra XUV700.  A 2-litre turbo petrol engine, which produces 200 PS power and 380 Nm peak torque, comes mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Moreover, a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, which produces up to 185 PS power and 450 Nm peak torque, comes paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Like before, the all-wheel-drive setup is limited to the top diesel-automatic variants.
