The Korean carmaker has launched the Kia Syros EV at a starting price of Rs. 13.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Syros EV is the most affordable Kia electric car in India, and like the Kia Carens Clavis EV, it is also available with the BaaS scheme, wherein its price starts at Rs. 7.99 lakh + Rs. 3.3/km. Here is a closer look at the Kia Syros EV.

Kia Syros EV: Key highlights

  • Claimed range of up to 526 km with a 51.4 kWh battery back
  • Segment-leading features like rear-seat ventilation, reclining, and sliding functions.
  •  Looks nearly the same as the ICE Kia Syros

Kia Syros EV: Dimensions and Design

The Kia Syros EV is 3,995 mm long, 1,805 mm wide, 1,670 mm tall, and has a 2,550 mm-long wheelbase.

The Kia Syros EV is designed almost the same as the ICE-powered Kia Syros. Like the Syros, the Syros EV gets a boxy silhouette, and because the Syros already had a concealed-off grille section, the Syros EV’s face with a closed-off grille does not look different at all. Other highlightable design similarities include large blacked-out bumpers, 3-pod LED headlamps, a slim LED DRL strip, body-coloured inserts on the bumpers, flush-fitting door handles, and even the 17-inch alloy wheels. The only distinguishable elements are a charging port on the front fender instead of a traditional fuel port at the rear of the car and the Syros EV badging.

The Kia Syros is available in 9 colour options: Ivory Silver Matte, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl, Glacier White Pearl and Xclusive Matte Graphite. The X-Line variant is available only in Xclusive Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl.

Kia Syros EV: Interior and Features

Like the exterior, the Syros EV interior is almost the same as the ICE Syros. Depending on the variant, three interior themes are available: Cloud Blue/Grey, Onyx Black/Off-White and Onyx Black/Hunter Green.

The clean dashboard is dominated by a triple-screen setup, consisting of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 5.0-inch unit for the climate controls. The Syros EV also gets a floating centre console and a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. Moreover, Kia has carried forward the Syros’s most prominent feature – a slidable and reclinable rear seat with a ventilation function.

Other notable features include an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, keyless entry with push-button start, powered and ventilated front seats, column-mounted drive selector, dual-camera dashcam, 64-colour interior lighting system, rear sunshades, and connected car technology.

For safety equipment, the Syros EV packs 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera setup, ESC, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors, electronic parking brake, Level-2 ADAS safety suite, and more.

Kia Syros EV: Battery and Range

The Kia Syros EV is offered with two battery pack options: a 42 kWh battery pack and a 51.4 kWh battery pack. Here are all drivetrain details.
