Noida, located in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, is a thriving hub of educational institutes and software companies in Delhi NCR. Noida was formed as part of the urbanization plan by the U.P State Government in 1976, and has been a part of Delhi-NCR’s growth story since then. However, with rapid development and urban growth, traffic has also increased, causing a rise in traffic violations. In this regard, the e-challan system introduced in the city has been an effective means to curb traffic violations in Noida.

An e-challan is an electronically issued receipt of the traffic violation committed by the offender and the payable penalty amount. The e-challan system came into effect in 2019 and has helped impose stringent rules on traffic offenders and maintain transparency in the traffic challan payment in Noida.

E-challan, once generated, gets updated in the traffic police portal automatically with real-time entry making it difficult for the offender to avoid the penalty. There are two ways to pay traffic challan in Noida – the Online method and the Offline one. For offline payment of e-challan, the traffic offender can visit any nearest Police Station in the city or any Traffic Policeman on duty on the road.
