Mahindra’s popular compact SUV, XUV300 has been in the business since 2019. Apart from a few mild upgrades that were mostly mechanical, the Indian compact SUV has not seen much change. For a while, the arrival of fresher models of its rivals has swayed some sales away. Finally, Mahindra has revealed that the facelifted Mahindra XUV300 will launch in February 2024 and this will surely give it the boost it needs to reclaim its territory. Here is everything you need to know about the new Mahindra XUV300.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift: Design

In order to take on the Tata Nexon that has recently been heavily updated, the Mahindra XUV300 facelift will get a major revamp in terms of design, especially to its front and rear. The design is going to be inspired by the Mahindra BE (Born Electric) line-up of SUVs that is expected to hit the market by 2025. At the front, there will be a more angular nose along with a completely redesigned drop-down LED daytime running lamp. In addition to that, the revised bumper will be flat along with a new headlamp assembly, and a new two-part grille with a larger central air intake as well. Furthermore, the 16-inch alloy wheels will get a new design.

At the rear, the new XUV300 will get a completely redesigned and smoother tailgate that is likely to feature a full-width LED light bar. The tail-lamps will be sleeker and C-shaped, and the registration plate will be housed on the bumper instead of on the tailgate.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift: Interiors and Features

On the inside, the cabin will be revamped with a new centre console and a redesigned panel for the AC controls. While there has not been any revelation from Mahindra about the features of the new XUV300, expect it to feature a segment-first panoramic sunroof and a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift: Engine and Transmission

For the engine options the Mahindra XUV300 is unlikely to receive any changes and will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel, 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre direct injection turbo petrol (TGDI).  As the current model, the transmission options are going to be a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed AMT. However, the new XUV300 will offer an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (TGDI) engine and this is the same automatic transmission that is also available in Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift: Launch and Rivals

Mahindra will reveal the prices of the facelifted XUV300 in February 2024 and it will rival the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Fronx, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. The XUV300 facelift will also get an EV avatar that will sit below the XUV400 EV.
