Being the larger and pricier one, the VinFast VF7 is the brand’s flagship car. The VinFast VF7 is larger than the VinFast VF6 in almost every dimension. The VF7 is 309 mm longer, 59 mm wider, and has a 110 mm longer wheelbase compared to the VF6. Meanwhile, the VF6 is 19 mm taller than the VF7. Moreover, the VF7 offers a significantly larger boot than that of the VF6. In terms of design, the VF7 and VF6 look nearly identical to each other, but their size difference and a few other elements make them differentiable. The front ends of both SUVs feature the ‘V Face’ LED DRL signature running the width of the nose. Bumpers of both feature headlamp assemblies and honeycomb-patterned air dams. As can be seen, the VinFast VF7 offers two battery options, while the VinFast VF6 offers only one. All variants of the VF6 come with front-wheel-drive drivetrains, and as far as power delivery is concerned, the base Earth variant of both VF6 and VF6 is decently powerful. The higher Wind and Wind Infinity variants of the VF6 are extremely powerful and can thrill you to bits if you enjoy driving electric cars, and so is the case with VF7. However, the variant line-up of the VF6 ends at the Wind Infinity variant, whereas the VF7 offers even higher variants, Sky and Sky Infinity, which come with a dual-motor set-up (all-wheel-drive). On the inside, the VF6 and VF7 are almost similarly designed. The main difference between the two can be felt due to the size difference, as the VF7 is larger, and the difference in colour themes. The VF6 has a darker dual-tone interior theme, while the VF7 gets a dual-tone black and brown interior theme, which looks slightly more upmarket than that of the VF6. Other than that, most interiors are the same on both electric SUVs. Their minimalist dashboards are of the same layered design, and the lack of drivers’ displays makes the dashboards look neat and uncluttered. Instead of drivers’ displays, both SUVs feature a head-up display, which projects the essential instrumentation information on the windshield. The same information can be viewed on the right corners of the touchscreen infotainment systems, which are angled towards the driver’s seat and have most controls integrated into them. Meanwhile, there are some toggle switches under the touchscreens for a few controls, including the drive selection.

Both VF6 and VF7 offer the same features, which include a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, panoramic glass roof, a head-up display, dual-zone climate control, vegan leather upholstery, drive and regen modes, a 360-degree camera, and more. The only feature that the VF7 offers and the VF6 does not is a powered tailgate.

In its price bracket, the VinFast VF6 is the best value-for-money car. Considering its rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and MG ZS EV, the VF6 offers one of the largest battery packs and a longer driving range than most of its rivals. Even in terms of features, the VF6 is better than all its competitors. If you want a departure from the norm and can go with a new brand, the VF6 should be a great option to consider. With the drive range, it should easily meet most of your daily travelling needs; however, you might need to test its real-world driving range before you think of taking it for longer inter-city drives. However, if you frequently need your car for longer journeys, for a few more lakhs, the VF7 should be a better option than the VF6. In addition to the longer driving range, it will offer you more space in its cabin and the option of all-wheel drive.
