India’s largest electric carmaker, Tata Motors, is exhibiting the Tata Avinya at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo. This is the more evolved form of the Tata Avinya, first revealed in 2022. Notably, the Tata Avinya will not be a single car, but a brand that Tata Motors plans to launch in 2026. The Tata Avinya brand will be positioned above the existing lineup and introduce multiple models developed on JLR’s EMA architecture, codenamed P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5. For now, let’s take a closer look at the Tata Avinya concept.
Tata Avinya: Design

Compared to the model that was showcased in 2022, the Tata Avinya concept looks quite different. While the T-shaped LED full-with DRLs, closed-off grille, and sleek LED headlamps are retained, the latest Tata Avinya concept gets a more muscular body with aggressive cuts and creases. The side profile highlights flush-type door handles on the front doors and no door handles for the rear doors – there are buttons instead. Moreover, the Tata Avinya sits on stylish 22-inch alloy wheels, while the outside rearview mirrors are camera-based and there is an ‘Avinya’ badge on the front doors. At the rear, the Tail lights are connected by a full-width T-shaped bar.
Tata Avinya: Interior
On the inside, the new Tata Avinya concept features dual-tone colour scheme and minimalist layout. The extensive use of touch-enabled controls, the light-themed two-spoke steering, and clean dashboard give it a futuristic touch. Moreover, unlike most modern-day electric cars’ concepts, the Tata Avinya does not feature too many screens inside the cabin and is expected to rely on voice-based controls.
Tata Avinya: Features
The production models of the Tata Avinya concept are expected to be laden with plenty of upmarket features such as 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, multi-zone climate control. Moreover, there will be some EV-specific features such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging.
In terms of safety features, the Tata Avinya production models are expected to feature at least six airbags, 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.
Tata Avinya: Battery and Range
The Tata Avinya production models will be based on the EMA platform, which can comfortably accommodate large battery packs. Therefore, the expected range of these models will be at least 500 km. Moreover, since the platform is scalable, the Tata Avinya production models can offer multiple battery pack options.
Tata Avinya: Expected launch
P1 (codename), the first EV based on the Tata Avinya concept is expected to be launched in 2026 at a price north of Rs 35 lakh.
