Hyundai has finally launched the long-awaited second-generation Hyundai Venue. Alongside the new Hyundai Venue, Hyundai has also launched the new Hyundai Venue N Line, the sportier version of the Venue. While the Hyundai Venue is one of the best-selling compact SUVs, its popularity has seen a significant decline in the last couple of years due to increased competition from Tata, Maruti, and Mahindra. The new Hyundai Venue seems to have been built with the intent to regain the lost ground. Here is a closer look at the new Hyundai Venue and its prices.

New Hyundai Venue: Dimensions and Design

The new Hyundai Venue is 3,995 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,665 mm tall, and has a 2,520 mm long wheelbase. These dimensions make the new Venue 48 mm taller, 30 mm wider than the outgoing model, and it has a 20 mm longer wheelbase than that of the outgoing model.

One thing is for sure: Hyundai has given a lot of thought to how its longest-selling compact SUV should look. The new Venue looks completely different and far more striking than the outgoing model. A new face has a large DRL assembly, which consists of a full-width LED light bar at the top and inverted-horns shaped elements below, near the main, quad-beam LED headlamp cluster. The all-new wide rectangular grille is blacked out and has glossy elements to make a somewhat chequered pattern, while a pronounced front bumper with functional air vents is finished in silver with plenty of muscular touches. The new Venue’s overall silhouette is boxy, and with slightly protruding wheel arches, a lot of cladding on the sides, the new Venue sits on 16-inch machined alloy wheels. At the rear, like most new cars, the Venue gets a full-width LED light bar, enclosed in a contrasting black trim which has the ‘Venue’ lettering in the middle. Meanwhile, the rear bumper simulates the front one with muscular touches and dual-tone cladding, parts of which also extend upwards to the tailgate.

New Hyundai Venue: Interior and Features

On the inside, the new Venue gets a dual-tone interior theme and a layered dashboard, with its centre panel designed to look like an ‘H,’ thanks to the vertical AC vents at the outer edges. This panel gets a textured finish for a premium appeal and has the ‘Venue’ lettering embossed on it. Meanwhile, the centre console has been redesigned to house the buttons for the ventilated seats, parking camera, electronic parking brake, and drive and traction modes, which are new additions to the Venue’s package. There is the use of ambient lighting to highlight some of the surfaces, like the dashboard and centre. The biggest highlight on the inside is an all-new curved display, which has two 12.3-inch screens, one for infotainment and one for the digital instrument cluster– larger even than the Hyundai Creta’s. It is also great that Hyundai has opted for physical buttons for HVAC controls and media, while the new steering does not get the traditional Hyundai logo. Instead of it, it gets four illuminated dots, which simulate the letter ‘H’ in Morse code, much like on the Ioniq 5.

In terms of features, the new Venue offers 12.3-inch dual screens for infotainment and instrument cluster, rear window sunshades, 2-step recline function for the rear seats, ventilated front seats, moon white ambient lighting, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, wireless charger, 4-way powered driver seat, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, and more. For the safety equipment, the new Venue offers 6 airbags, BS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold assist, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, 360-degree camera with front parking sensors, electronic parking brake with auto hold, a Level-2 ADAS safety suite, and more.

The new Venue will be available in eight variants: HX 2, HX 4, HX 5, HX 6, HX 6T, HX 7, HX 8, and HX 10.

New Hyundai Venue: Engine and Transmission

The new Venue carries forward the engine options from the outgoing model. There is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. The naturally aspirated petrol engine continues to be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the turbo petrol engine continues to be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 7-speed DCT automatic. An addition has been made for the diesel engine; earlier, it was available with only a 6-speed manual gearbox, and now it is also available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Like before, the N Line variants are available with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which is mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT automatic.
