The Indo-Japanese carmaker has finally launched its all-new mid-size SUV, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, at the starting price of Rs 10.5 lakh. The Maruti Victoris is Maruti’s second mid-size SUV after the Maruti Grand Vitara, and it will be the flagship model of Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealerships. Available in six variants, LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI(O), ZXI+, and ZXI+(O), the Victoris is slotted between the Maruti Brezza and Maruti Grand Vitara in Maruti’s portfolio. Moreover, the Victoris is the first Maruti car to be equipped with the Level-2 ADAS safety suite, and it shares its powertrains with the Grand Vitara. Here is a closer look at the Maruti Victoris.
Maruti Victoris: Dimensions and Design
The Maruti Victoris is 4,360 mm long, 1,795 mm wide, 1,655 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.
The design of the Maruti Victoris is heavily inspired by the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara electric SUV. The front-end features two parallel running chrome strips as a grille, with the Suzuki logo embossed on them. The higher-positioned strip connects the pixel-shaped LED DRLs with the sharp LED headlamps below them. There is a layered effect on the bumper with thick black cladding and a silver skid plate. The side profile highlights the blacked-out pillars and ORVMs, squared-off wheel arches, thick black cladding covering the bottom of the SUV, silver roof rails, slightly sloping roof line, and 18-inch dual-tone machined alloy wheels. At the rear, the Victoris features a pixel-patterned full-width LED strip connecting the LED tail lamps, and a chunky bumper with a silver skid plate.

As far as colour schemes are concerned, the Maruti Victoris is available in four single-tone colours and three dual-tone colours. The single-tone colours include Bluish Black, Arctic White, Magma Grey, and Mystic Green, while the dual-tone colours that come with a Bluish Black roof are Sizzling Red, Splendid Silver, and Eternal Blue.
Maruti Victoris: Interior and Features

On the inside, the Maruti Victoris gets dual-tone black and beige interiors and looks quite different from the Grand Vitara. Its modern-looking layered dashboard features a pixelated backlight on the front passenger’s side and a leatherette finish. The 10.25-inch free-standing touchscreen is typical of Maruti fashion, and is of trapezoidal shape with trapezoidal AC vents below it, while the three-spoke steering is all-new.
In terms of features, the Victoris offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 64-colour ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with rear vents, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, air purifier, paddle shifters, powered tailgate, 8-speaker Infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos, and more.
For the safety equipment, Maruti has loaded the Victoris with a host of features. Most features, including ABS with EBD, traction control, brake assist, hill hold control, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and six airbags are standard across variants, while higher variants also offer electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Level-2 ADAS safety suite, which makes it the first Maruti car to be equipped with ADAS features. Moreover, the Victoris has scored a full 5-star rating for adult and child safety in the Bharat NCAP safety test.
Maruti Victoris: Engine and Transmission
Sharing its powertrains with the Maruti Grand Vitara, the Victoris offers two engines. A 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine, which produces 103 PS power and 137 Nm peak torque, comes mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The more powerful, 1.5-litre strong hybrid engine, which produces 116 PS power and 141 Nm peak torque, comes mated to an e-CVT automatic. The petrol automatic variants are also available with an all-wheel-drive drivetrain. Meanwhile, the CNG variants are available with a 5-speed manual transmission only.
The interesting thing about the CNG-powered Victoris is that it is the first car in India to be equipped with an underbody twin-tank CNG setup. With two CNG tanks mounted under the body, the CNG tanks do not take up any space on the boot floor, allowing more usable space in the boot as compared to other CNG cars.
