Steps to Check Challan Status & Pay Online in Maharashtra

Spinny

Offline

Visit the E-Challan Page

Go to the e-Challan page on the Spinny website or traffic app. Enter your vehicle registration number to begin.

Visit the Court

If your challan is marked as a Court Challan, it must be settled at the Judicial Magistrate Court mentioned in the notice. Carry a valid ID proof like Aadhaar, Driving Licence, or Voter ID.

Check your Challan

Click on ‘Check Challan’ to fetch all pending traffic challans linked to your registration number. If you're not logged in, you'll be prompted to verify via an OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Once verified, your challans will be displayed with complete details: offense type, date, and fine amount.

Appear on the Given Date

You’ll be given a summon date to appear in court. The judge will review the case, explain the violation, and decide the final payable amount. In some cases, the fine may be negotiable.

Make Payment

By default, all pending challans are automatically selected. You can select or deselect multiple challans as needed, then click on ‘Review Payment’ at the bottom. On the next screen, click ‘Pay Now’, choose your preferred payment method; UPI, Credit/Debit Card, or Net Banking - and complete the transaction securely through our payment gateway.

Make the Payment

After the hearing, you can pay the fine at the court's payment counter. Most courts accept cash, and some may offer digital payment options.

Traffic Rules and Regulations in Maharashtra

To ensure you don’t get issued a traffic e-challan in Maharashtra, it’s important to follow the traffic rules and carry necessary documents while driving. These rules also help reduce violations that commonly appear when users perform a car challan check or view their car challan status online.

  1. Always carry valid documents:

    • Driver’s license (DL)

    • Vehicle insurance

    • Registration Certificate (RC)

    • Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate

  2. Avoid overtaking in narrow areas: Only overtake when it's safe to do so, especially in narrow lanes.

  3. Don’t use your phone while driving: Stay focused on the road. If you must take a call, park your vehicle safely first.

  4. Never drive under the influence of alcohol: Driving while intoxicated is a serious offense with heavy penalties.

  5. Adhere to speed limits: Follow the speed limits in towns and on highways for your safety and the safety of others.

  6. Stop at red traffic lights: Always wait for the signal to turn green before proceeding, and never jump red lights.

  7. Drive on the left side: Stick to the left side of the road, and allow vehicles on your right to pass safely.

  8. Give way to emergency vehicles: Always yield to ambulances, police cars, and fire engines.

  9. Avoid illegal parking: Don’t park in No Parking zones, busy intersections, or the middle of the road.

  10. Don’t engage in triple riding on two-wheelers: Only one pillion rider is allowed, and both riders should wear helmets.

  11. Accompany learner drivers: If you’re learning to drive, make sure a licensed driver is seated next to you.

  12. Use indicators while overtaking: Signal your intentions with indicators when overtaking, and always do it from the right side.

  13. Wear seat belts: Ensure all passengers in the car are wearing seat belts. If there are children in the back seat, make sure they’re secured with a seat belt or child harness.
