MG Majestor has been one of the most-awaited cars of this year. It offers 810 mm of water-wading capacity which is exceptional. The option of 4WD along with low-range transfer case and differential locks make it capable for off-roading purposes. The cabin is spacious and even the 3rd row seats are quite spacious. Its massive road presence and dimensions that are bigger than Toyota Fortuner and other 7-seater cars in the segment make it a true beast on the Indian roads.
MG Majestor comes with only one engine and transmission option. All the variants are fitted with the 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine and an 8-speed torque converter (automatic) transmission. RWD and 4WD options are also offered in this car.
The spacious interiors and comfortable seats are the main highlights of MG Majestor. Yet, cup holders and use of cheap plastics may feel a bit disappointing in this price range. The diesel engine gets quite noisy at higher RPMs but decent sound insulation ensures that much of it doesn’t creep into the cabin. The legroom and headroom are more than decent but under-thigh support is limited, especially for the 2nd row passengers due to raised floor design.
In real-world conditions, MG Majestor delivers a mileage of up to 10 km/l in the city and up to 13 km/l on the highway. The performance of this car is quite good on the highway as the car cruises effortlessly due to instant power delivery. However, there is a noticeable turbo lag if you drive the car under 2000 RPM. The suspension is tuned for a plush ride-quality but body roll gets noticeable due to the bulky dimensions and boxy design of this car.
6 airbags are offered as a standard across all the variants of MG Majestor. ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, steering assist, etc. add an additional layer of safety while driving this car. The rugged ladder-frame chassis makes this car rigid and durable.
MG Majestor is a huge vehicle and this also ensures enough space for both 2nd and 3rd row occupants. The key details regarding the dimensions of this SUV are given below:
