Honda City Expert Review

3.8

The Honda City is a sedan that operates beyond the sub-4 metre categories that govern the small car market in India. It is one of the oldest running nameplates in the Indian market, and is currently in its fifth generation. In the olden days, the Honda City was seen as a truly premium product, and was known for its performance and refinement. While that remains the case today as well, the Honda City no longer operates as a lone ranger, and instead, it has competition like the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus to deal with. In the Indian market, the Honda City has always set the benchmark when it comes to refinement and premium quality interiors. With the latest generational update, features too have become a mainstay of this sedan. The Honda City has also always been known for its driving dynamics, and this continues to be the case today as well. Therefore, people who put driving pleasure above all and love a good naturally aspirated and refined petrol motor will really appreciate the Honda City.

Verdict

The Honda City has always been a very stately car, meaning, its strong points have always been refinement and comfort. It has also catered to the performance enthusiast with its petrol engine, and all of that still remains the case. However, it is a tad bit more expensive than before, but for that added cost, it is a slightly more feature-packed offering as well. Ultimately, the Honda City still remains a comfortable car with a premium vibe to it.

Who should buy a Honda City

The Honda City’s petrol version is excellent for those who like to be chauffeur-driven. Rear seat comfort is excellent and the refinement on offer is truly excellent. The enthusiast will also fall for this version of the City due to its potent top-end, albeit with the manual transmission. The diesel engine will be a big attraction for all those who do a lot of highway driving due to its excellent fuel efficiency numbers.
