The notice arrives by SMS or post, and many owners only notice it months later, by which time the challan shows as &#8220;referred to court&#8221; and can no longer be paid in the usual way. For challans in that state, Gujarat&#8217;s National Lok Adalat is the main route to closure, and the next sitting is on 12 December 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Settlement happens at the district court complex in each district, before a bench that confirms the amount and closes the challan once it is paid. No court fee applies, and the result is final. Most camera and spot offences are eligible, but drunk driving and cases involving injury are not. Gujarat also moved one of its 2026 sittings away from the national date, holding the May round on 11 July instead. A <a href=\"http:\/\/v\">traffic challan<\/a> that has been sent to court would normally wait for a magistrate&#8217;s hearing, but at a Lok Adalat sitting the bench deals with it directly: it reviews the challan, fixes the amount and treats the matter as closed once payment is made.
