Unfortunately, Volkswagen offers the Tiguan with only one powertrain option. Yes, the 2.0-litre TSI petrol is great and the 7-speed DSG gearbox it\u2019s paired with is very quick too. But given the Tiguan\u2019s premium positioning and rival offerings, potential buyers would\u2019ve expected more powertrain options, especially one with a diesel engine. For instance, the Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tuscon, and Citroen C5 Aircross all offer a diesel powertrain option. That the Tiguan\u2019s 2.0-litre TSI engine is rather fuel-thirsty only makes this issue more glaring. <\/p>\n\n\n
