India\u2019s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is keen on introducing CNG variants on its popular hatchback models to offer a more eco-friendly option. The Maruti Swift and the Baleno would soon be seen on Indian roads in their CNG avatar, while the Toyota Glanza, essentially a rebadged Baleno, would be getting a CNG version as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maruti Suzuki\u2019s Baleno CNG version will be fitted with a 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine attached with a CNG kit – having 89PS and 113 Nm of torque. The CNG version will give about 25kmpl of fuel efficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Swift which has been Maruti Suzuki\u2019s top-selling hatchback in India will be revamped in the CNG variant. The Swift CNG will also come with a 1.2 L Dualjet K12C petrol engine, fitted with a CNG kit. The CNG model will have a horsepower of 70 bhp and 95 Nm of torque, producing 11bhp power and 18Nm torque that is less than its standard fossil-fuel (petrol) variant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Japanese automobile giant Toyota will bring its Glanza version aided with Compressed Natural Gas efficiency. The 1.2L dualjet petrol engine connected with the factory-fitted CNG kit will return a fuel efficiency of 25 kmpl. Toyota Glanza CNG will be available on lower segment and mid-spec variants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At present there is no word on the pricing of the CNG models but they are expected to be priced 50,000 to 80,000 more than their fossil fuel versions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
