In a bid to expand its line-up in India, VinFast will launch its 7-seater electric MPV, VinFast VF MPV 7, on 15 April. The Vietnamese EV car brand has opened the bookings for the VF MPV 7 at Rs. 21,000, while deliveries will commence immediately after launch.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Design
The VinFast VF MPV 7 has a typical MPV design. It gets a boxy silhouette and some design elements like those of the VinFast VF6 and VinFast VF7. Up front, there are vertically stacked LED headlights, and eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs on either side of the VinFast logo, ‘V.’ The side profile highlights the 19-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and slim black cladding running across the electric MPV’s bottom. At the rear, the electric MPV features a full-width LED light bar designed like the LED DRLs, and a blacked-out bumper that adds visual contrast.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Interior and Features
On the inside, the VF MP7 features a minimalist interior layout. The clean, layered dashboard has a free-standing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment that doubles up as a digital instrument cluster. There is a 3-spoke steering wheel with some physical buttons and a flat centre console with large cup holders. While the electric MPV lacks a conventional instrument cluster in front of the driver’s seat, it will feature a Bonafide head-up display (HUD), like the VF6 and VF7, for added convenience.
The international-spec model of the VF MPV 7 packs a powered driver’s seat, automatic climate control with a PM2.5 air filter, and a 4-speaker sound system. Its safety equipment consists of four airbags, hill-start assist, ABS with EBD and an electronic parking brake. All the same, the India-spec model is likely to be more feature-loaded than the international model.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Battery and Range
The international-spec model of the VF MPV 7 is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle-mounted (FWD) electric motor, and offers a claimed range of 450 km. The setup produces 201 hp power and 280 Nm peak torque, enabling the electric MPV to sprint from 0 to 100 k/h in 10 seconds. The battery pack is compatible with 80kW DC fast charging and can be a topped-up from 10 percent to 80 percent in a claimed 30 minutes. The India-spec VF MPV 7 is expected to offer the same powertrain and specifications.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Price, Launch, and Rivals
The VinFast VF MPV 7 is expected to be priced at Rs. 19 – 24 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will rival Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMax7, and Mahindra XEV 9S.
