Nissan has launched the Nissan Gravite sub-4-metre MUV at the starting price of Rs. 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the Renault Triber MUV, the Gravite is underpinned by the same CMF-A+ platform, but comes with many cosmetic differences. The Gravite comes in as an effort of the Japanese carmaker to expand its portfolio in India. Here is everything you need to know about the Nissan Gravite.

Nissan Gravite: Dimensions and Design

The Nissan Gravite is 3,987 mm long, 1,734 mm wide, 1,644 mm tall, and has a 2,636 mm long wheelbase, and 182 mm ground clearance. For the 5-seater layout (without the last row), its boot space is 625 litres, and for the 6-seater layout (one of the two seats of the last row tumbled down), its boot space is 320 litres.

Since the Gravite is based on the Renault Triber, its overall silhouette is largely like that of the Triber. However, there are some styling differences. For example, the Gravite features differently designed DRLs and headlights. The DRLs are slim and are connected by a chrome strip, making a long, horizontal, bright strip. The bold grille has a honeycomb pattern, while the ‘GRAVITE’ lettering is placed on the edge of the bonnet. From the side, the Gravite looks nearly identical to the Triber, with the same door panels, window glass, roof rails, and other design elements. The rear follows the same story as the Triber, with wraparound tail lamps connected by a chrome strip. Like the front bumper, the rear bumper is flanked by C-shaped silver brackets, and the number plate is placed on the tailgate.

The Nissan Gravite is available in five colours: Forest Green, Onyx Black, Blade Silver, Snow White, and Metallic Grey. Moreover, there is a limited-run Launch Edition, which is limited to 1,001 units; it gets accents to the C-shaped inserts and white tyre print decals on the sides.

Nissan Gravite: Interiors and Features

Like the exterior, the interior is largely like that of the Renault Triber. Like the Triber, the Gravite comes with a 5+2 seating configuration, although the dual-tone black and beige colour theme is unique to the Nissan MUV. The clean dashboard has a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, and trapezoidal AC vents on the edges and the centre, below which is integrated the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Below the touchscreen are three chunky rotary knobs for the manual climate control. Like the

In terms of features, the Nissan Gravite offers an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, cruise control, and a wireless phone charger, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a cooled glove box, manual climate control with as many as eight AC vents, push-button start/stop, cruise control, automatic LED headlamps, and more.

The Gravite Launch Edition also offers a JBL sound system, dual-channel dashcam, ambient lighting, cabin air purifier, and more.

For safety equipment, the Gravite offers six airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking sensors with camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Nissan Gravite: Engine and Transmission

Sharing its powertrain with the Renault Triber, the Nissan Gravite is powered by a 1-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. This engine produces 72 PS power and 96 Nm peak torque, can deliver a mileage of 19.3 kmpl (MT) and 19.6 kmpl (AMT).
