Used Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Overview

At a time when SUVs were rapidly gaining popularity and hatchbacks were the popular choice to own, Maruti Suzuki blended the two worlds together for a compact SUV/crossover. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross replaced the SX4 sedan in 2015 while establishing Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the compact SUV segment.

In 2021, the facelifted S-Cross continues to be a popular compact SUV despite stiff competition. However, the first generation Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is still a capable car with the dimensions of a hatchback and the performance of an SUV. With that in mind, a used 2015-2018 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross still manages to impress and is worth considering for your next upgrade. Here’s everything you need to know about Maruti Suzuki’s very capable compact SUV.

Used Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Exteriors

While there is a new trend for hatchbacks to wear the rugged and macho looks to deliver the “feel” of an SUV, the S-Cross establishes itself against the trend. Maruti Suzuki has designed the S-Cross as a proper crossover focusing on the performance and practicality elements of an SUV. The vehicle comes with 180 mm of ground clearance which is more than enough for on-road driving, and is identical to what is offered in current day SUVs such as the Jeep Compass. In terms of looks, the front angle of the vehicle will definitely remind you of the erstwhile SX4 sedan.

The headlight cluster gets HID projectors lamps along with parking lights which also double up as daytime running lights, which is a beautiful thought when looked in totality with the entire front profile. The grille is carved out in a rectangular shape and gets a twin slat chrome finish that looks dapper. The bumper too, is well sculpted and gets a faux skid plate and a black belt line that looks quite sporty and refreshing. The fog lamp is also a projector unit that provides greater visibility on highways and cities alike.

The side profile is the angle from where the S-Cross looks like a well-designed hatchback and resembles vehicles like the Hyundai i20 Active or Fiat Avventura. But the real difference lies in the length of the vehicle which resembles compact SUVs like the Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. The rear profile also gets a few refreshing design cues which include a spilt structured tail lamp cluster, integrated rear spoiler with a stop lamp, bumper integrated reflectors and a pair of roof rails. Overall, the looks of the S-Cross are conventional yet unique, making it an evergreen pre-owned car to consider.
