The wonderful world of Jurassic Park has been revisited with the recently released Jurassic world. There are bigger dinosaurs this time around and Chris Pratt even tames four Velociraptors. Apart from the 65 million year old beasts, Jurassic World also featured some rather cool machines as well, thanks in part to Mercedes-Benz’s product placement. If you were wondering what those vehicles were, wonder no more!
Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe
The GLE 450 AMG Coupe is set to launch later this year, but when you are the head operations manager of an international theme park, early access to a new model is just one of the perks. The GLE 450 AMG Coupe features a 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6, producing 362 BHP , and a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Plenty of performance for getting around a large theme park with mostly unpaved paths.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV
The G-Class SUV makes a very short appearance but its imposing presence is hard to ignore. The SUV is powered by a 5.5 litre twin-turbo V8, producing 544 BHP. All of that power is delivered to the car’s four-wheel drive system through the standard 7-speed 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox. And a frightening sound that would be enough to scare even a dinosaur, let alone a person.
Mercedes-Benz G-63 6×6
How do you make an already practical off-roader even more practical? You add a pair of wheels, that’s how. The G-63 AMG 6×6 has 6-wheel all-wheel drive and all the power of the four-wheeled G-Class. It may look silly, but it has a way of growing on you.
While most of the vehicles in Jurassic World were Mercedes branded, there were two exceptions. The first is the 1993 Jeep Wrangler from the original Jurassic Park film. It’s inclusion in the movie is a throwback to the origins of the theme park in Jurassic World.
Velociraptors are fast creatures and when you need to keep up with them during a hunt, the Triumph Scrambler is the motorcycle to choose. With a 865 cc engine producing 59 BHP, you’ll easily be keeping pace with those canny raptors all day long.
