After months of speculation and delays, Tata Motors is finally set to launch its 7-seater SUV as the Tata Safari. The Tata Safari, previously known as the Gravitas, is expected to launch in January, 2021.
What is the 2021 Tata Safari?
You may remember the 7-seater Tata SUV appearing at a few motor shows. At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the SUV appeared as the Buzzard and at the 2020 Auto Expo, it appeared as the Gravitas. Tata has finally confirmed that their new 7-seater SUV will be called the Tata Safari, reviving one of the most iconic names from Tata’s lineup.
The new 2021 Tata Safari will follow the design philosophy of the Tata Harrier, with several nods to the Tata Safari design we know. Like the Harrier, the new Tata Safari is based on the Land Rover-derived Omega architecture.

2021 Tata Safari Expected Price
The new Tata Safari will reignite Tata’s competition against the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and the MG Hector Plus, 7-seater SUVs that have been well received in India. In terms of price, the new Tata Safari will be expected to be priced higher than the Tata Harrier. As of yet, the pricing for the new Tata Safari has not been announced.
