Land Rover has developed an app that takes over the car’s steering, acceleration and braking, allowing the features to be controlled by the driver from outside the car. Using the app, the car can be manouevred at a maximum speed of 4mph, so long as the driver and the key fob are within a range of 30 feet. The app, still a “Prototype”, hasn’t been made available to the general public yet.
The idea is to help off-road drivers carefully and precisely navigate steep embankments or other challenging routes, as well as help urban drivers exit tight parking spaces.
The company took to YouTube to show off their remote control app and the self-driving features. Click here to watch the video.
